This was a thread about SEO advice, which can include code concepts. Your career meltdown issues should go in another thread if you want to talk about that for some reason.

Seems like there are many other underlying issues. This topic just seemed to bring it all out.

All this drama is getting old. First EDMC or w/e had paranoid meltdowns every other day, now it's Greg. Jeesh.

I'm lucky enough to have spoke with Randy a few times and he gave some excellent advice and showed me more in a day than I had learned reading about the over the years, and I'm positive he saved me a year of trial and error. I have the results to prove he knows what he's talking about because I'm making money now, and I wasn't before. Thanks again Randy!

Anyway, I think everyone on here needs to think twice before having an adolescent meltdown in public (Seems to happen a lot to certain members). Try and work things out, if not part ways and go in another direction.

Just my 2 cents.

Agreed personal attacks should not be allowed like this. Fine people need to air out some stuff but not to this extent especially when it has nothing to do with this thread and to be honest isnt anyones buisness.

His sites are phenomonal for what he does, how he ranks and the fact that he does everything naturally..no tricks no little extras. What I would give to rank for one and two word terms on one site let alone quite a few.

I have had a ton of help from people here on teh forum and I appreciate everyones advice and opinon. Randy has been guiding me for some time now and taken the time to simplfy it, make sense of it and show me exactly how to use it, than explains the purpose behind it.

I can see the results from his advice. What he does works very well.

He doesnt have to do any of this but he does and I am thankful for it and hes changed my own thinking of what I need to do and more so how I want to go about it.

If anything he has made me believe that I can do it and will make it. I dont question that part anymore . I made a decsion today that will allow me to actually put the full time hours into this. No more a couple hours here and there and I wouldn't be doing that if it wasnt for him.

I will take his approach at building sites over anything else I have read any day and I thank you Randy for the confidence you have given me.

Woah, this thread seems a little too tasty for the topic title.

Maybe an expert affiliate forum should be opened up; after all the top affiliates that think they know their shit best. Banter is cool, but there is a lot of unconstructive critizism at the moment.

I'm sorry this thread got derailed. (And thanks for the kinds words from the people who posted them.)

Getting back on topic. I never answered my own question. (It was "what's the worst SEO advice you've ever received.")

The worst SEO advice I ever got was to get as many links as I could from wherever I could get them. I wound up with a site that had almost 20 pages of link exchanges. Ranked great in Yahoo for a while, but it never got more than maybe 30 visitors a day, and Google penalized the entire domain. Site doesn't rank for anything significant anywhere now.

That advice was bad then, but it worked temporarily in 2003. I'm not sure it would work at all now, but I wouldn't waste my time trying it now either.

I can't remember my worst seo advice but my worst seo mistake was having a site with just banners and no content.

I would have to agree with most of the posters in this thread. Randy has helped me a lot and is always willing to help me with any questions I have about the industry or tips on how I can improve my site.
