Brandon is a moderator here at PAW so he should have access of course. Other AMs should have access to it if they meet the requirements for having access. Like xxx posts or invites from a moderator.

My 2 pesos...

I'm not for or against, I just want to point out that stuff in a private forum tends to get out of the forum.. you can still copy/paste in a private forum, so the sense of security gained.. is quite false..

This is a tough issue; mainly because a lot of members -- myself included -- could see a need for a private forum to discuss matters that really shouldn't clog up the public forums and start useless internet fights and threats....but at the same time it could cause division amongst our members, something J or any of the mods here would definitely NOT want.

I like the idea but it's still something that I would be on the fence about mainly because I think a lot of the members already address MOST of their issues in an otherwise professional manner when making their threads about things like SEO, marketing, site reviews, advertising, etc -- not to mention a lot address many other issues and personal matters in private using PMs.

I talk with a lot of members here daily on messengers or through PMs, and already about issues and questions that aren't addressed whatsoever on PAW's boards itself. I don't really care whether there is a private forum made, but I wanted to make my opinion known nonetheless...so there! LOL.

Wow.

At first, I thought it would be a GREAT IDEA! But then...I read all the posts here and have reconsidered my opinion...

I think that being open and honest is important in the industry...it is shadiness that always gets my goat...the idea just seems like it would turn PAW into a cliquey sort of place. I would hate to have my favorite forum go that route.

Besides...I once read...."If it ain't broke...!"

Just my opinion.

I really can't imagine this being a good idea for the community. I'm not gonna rehash everything already said, but I agree with most of it.

Even if the new forum was for members only (not certain members) I think it's still a good idea. Some people we don't want reading certain things that get posted are read by non-members. They wouldnt even know the forum exists until they are registered.

CAP does something similiar and all I'm saying is it couldnt hurt.

I think I have changed my mind. Maybe the benefits from it are less than the advantages..

Its a toss up for a lot of people -- I guess the only reason I wouldn't mind things staying the same is places like CAP and GPWA are so "cloak and dagger" with their private forums (I mean they act like they would literally burn you at the stake if you discussed private forum material at other places, lol)...

This is what I've always loved about PAW. There's no bullshit, our members [for the most part] are always out about posting pretty decent threads and asking questions, and there's always that feeling of wanting to come back over and over again during the day. I think if threads like the RakeReport and AP issue came out about 5 to 10 times a day I might see an ABSOLUTE need to have something like a private forum, but since issues like this aren't rampant around PAW there really isn't a huge need for one.
