Well....I didn't really need to hear any more after the security breach with emailing the xls file - I'm getting them off my site ASAP.

This Scott Tom stuff is mind-blowingly outrageous.

I reposted my original thread with some very good (I think) analysis. And it was promptly deleted =/

The censorship is going to hurt PAW in the long run on this one IMO. My prediction is that at least the rakeback affiliates will all stop promoting within a month or two and PAW could have taken a leadership position on this one....but instead is coming off to look like the lapdog of AP, along with RakeTheRake who is being very vocal in their defense of AP on 2+2

Perhaps it was deleted because there's already a thread on the subject? Unless you posted it in this thread in which case feel free to disregard

And I don't think Jeremy should be removing Absolute from the PAW Network at this time. If he chooses not to personally promote Absolute on his sites then that's one thing, but to basically tell all affiliates on the PAW Network that regardless of their own stance, they can't promote Absolute anymore under that network would be a drastic measure. I don't work with the PAW Network at all, but if I did I'd not be happy at being told who I can and cannot promote.

Agreed, it is up to each affiliate to decide what their position is here. I think all should delist but those who continue to promote AP have that right. They just risk alienating the community.

BTW everyone I was called a troll by a mod here for suggesting such a thing before the rest of this became public. As I suspected it was only a matter of time before damning evidence appeared beyond the first batch of proof.

hmmmm

This is interesting because I was at the CAC in Montreal and an employee I dealt with 3 years ago approached me and told me the former CEO was now gone and also the Director who tried to broker a deal with me was fired for stealing. This person new I wouldn't do business with them because of these people being active in the company after my previous experience.

I contacted Danielle just last week prior to this large mess coming out thinking that the Upper Mgt was now gone from the company to talk on our college program and where they were going with the program they do world wide.

Let's just say what they tried to pull on me 3 years ago is up there with this super account story. I refused to do business with them since this time.

I don't know if you can gain the trust back after this mess..... You may see AP just disappear and they merge into UB....

What else could you possibly do?

Yeah, they seem to be stuck between a rock and a hard place.

1) CPA affiliates will have probably already moved on
2) MGR affiliates might agree but reluctant to lose their long term income.
3) Jeremy is gonna get his ass kicked if he decides either way.

IMO, I think the MGR is already lost. AP wont survive this under the same name. Affiliates need to offer their players the best service which means sending them to reputable sites.

(EDIT: Forgot AP do the $25 up front then a MGR, so everyone is stuck)

Hey Secret Sauce, thanks for the unkind words. Deleting the first post that was cluttered with people bashing the affiliate managers of absolute poker as well as making claims about sixth senses was not censorship. I have written about it in my blog several times and you are happy to reference those thoughts if think it was censorship. Deleting this thread with Absolute's (initial) official response that I asked for would be censorship. But obviously I am not going to do that.

Nonetheless I'm sorry your post got deleted.

I have always been the first to take reponsibilty and admit when I was wrong. Initially I wanted to give Absolute the benefit of the doubt when this first started. Why? because they are a long time business partner.

Calling PAW or myself a lapdog of AP is unfair.

Almost a month later, and now that the evidence is far greater, I have no choice but to change my stance. I definitely think something shady has transpired and I'll certainly be vocal about it. At the same time I am running a business and and have to take into account the potential losses of affiliates on my network.

Secret Sauce, maybe you can just pull down a few banners and be cool with it. But here is a comment from my personal blog today, and the type of decision I have to make.

Quote:
I noticed some of the bigger sites have indeed taken down AP. Although I don’t think AP would stupid enough to close down affiliate accounts because of this, let’s hypothetically say Jeremy removes them from the PAW network.

What if AP did close down the PAW Network affiliate account? What would happen to my revenue share. To be honest I really don’t want to lose that just to prove a point.

I know you have to make a decision Jeremy, but I really hope if you do remove them, us on the PAW network don’t get screwed.
G
Believe me, I really would love to take them down right now, and maybe I will. But what happens if AP whose revenue is inevitably going to take a dive in the coming months decides to make that money up by cutting out their affiliates who don't support them? I mean fuck dude, considering the CEO may have been involved in this, I am not ruling anything out.

I have a responsibility to those on this network. And if the $$ each month some people make from AP on the PAW Network means putting food on the table for their families, then yea dude, it is a big decision, and I am not a "lap dog".

My business decision about this fucked up situation is much more complex than you may think.

Well lets see out of 8 posts how many of them have been trying to stir up shit with Absolute poker? Are you even an affiliate?

Someone asks a question about experiencing good click throughs with absolute poker and you come in calling all affiliates greedy who still promote ap and UB. This is when everything was still just a rumor.

The other comment made by Secret Sauce saying it'll hurt paw and Jeremys reputation about removing a thread. Everyone who knows Jeremy even a little bit knows he goes out of his way to help people and wouldnt do anything intentional to screw anyone. You're going to honestly try to sit there and throw Jeremy under the bus?

I hear a lot of people giving bonuswhores credit for one of the first to take AP of their site. Funny how they rank for "AP bonus" and that page is still there. Think that page will go PL style. Doubtful.

Every affiliate is in a different situation, those with forums obviously are pretty much being blackmailed to take AP off and as a result most are. Some with good serp results will likely leave them be.
