Default Review my new site - Online Poker Trading Forum

Hi all

If someone here would give me some input on my new forum http://www.maketransfer.com that would be great. I am looking to create a poker trading community as this is something that doesnt excist today. Yes, people do trade poker money at forums like PAW and twoplustwo, but there are no sites dedicated to this. I believe there is a need for a site like this on the internet.

I have not started advertising the site yet but we are already getting hits from google and new user registrations. The thing is, is that I have little to none experience running a forum. I like it, but I want to hear from people here what you think I should add to my forum? Is there anything I should change etc.?

Basically I want it as user friendly as possible. I want people to feel that they can trade in a "clean" enviroment.

So folks, lets hear it

The site loads really fast. Almost like you had it hosted on a server in my bedroom.. That's great!

Seems like a pretty good idea. Always seeing people on forums posting how they need to do transfers especially nowadays.

First thing I would do is add a disclaimer so people don't come crawling to you when things go bad.

That and do basic seo stuff like 301 your home banner link from http://www.maketransfer.com/index.php to www.maketransfer.com and target some sort of keyword for your homepage.

Good concept but I'm guessing that's probably illegal in a lot of places.

I'm not a lawyer and am in no place to give legal advice, but I imagine creating a site for the sole purpose of transferring gambling money to avoid fees or to get around gambling laws would be illegal anywhere in North America.

Yeah but were not based in North America so hopefully that will not be a problem.

You really need to work on the SEO of the site. Having tilte with the $ does very little help.

You want what people are searching for. So the title should be more like "Transfer Poker Money" with the sitename or moto after that.

I would guess more people search for Transfer poker money than Make Transfer - Buy, Sell and Trade Poker$
Or something. Find out what ever it is people search for when trying to do this.

Nice idea and be careful...

Thanks losercore.

I guess one of my main problems is to find good keywords to target. What do people really search for when they want to find a site like this?

Another challenge is to create a community where people feel that they can find safe people to trade with. We are using the iTrader function and are also looking to give known members a "Certified Trader" badge.

I'd be creating a page right at the top that explains exactly what the site is for, and how to use it. Possibly also some examples of the rates that people will trade for. Help out those beginners.

And something like a feedback forum too. Also out of curiosity, what are your plans in regard to making money from this? Will you be one of the people doing the majority of transfers?

Good luck with this - I'd personally go another route if I was doing this(some sort of escrow service) - hope it doesn't come a site ripe for scammers
