I'm glad people like George Washington and Martin Luther King didn't have such blanketed beliefs about not breaking the law.
Any good American with any sort of spirit in which this country was founded on should be more than willing to break any law he feels in unjust.
This country was founded on rebellion and secured through unending and constant revolution.
With that said America has the higher incarceration rate in the world.
Prison population per 100,000 inhabitants
USA 740
Russia 713
UK 124
Canada 102
Germany 98
Italy 92
France 80
Vietnam 75
Sweden 64
Denmark 61
Japan 37
Iceland 29
Even worst is that 1/18 of Americans over the age of 21 have been in jail, are in jail or have been on probation.
The government keeps finding ways to pass new laws and more creative ways to enforce them.
People are scared to break the law now even when the belief strongly a law is not just. I think the government has done a good job brainwashing people into thinking:
“The best solution is not to break the law in the first place”.
It is sad that people are not more outraged over these numbers and the stupid laws that keep coming up and the crazy ways in which they are both passed an enforced.
I’d bet steep odds that Countries founders are looking down on the USA now saying
“UGH! We should have stayed with England”.
So many Americans died in vain so that we can be “free”?
We are no where close to free.
