Your 1st online game
Where did you sign up?
What website got you there?
What was your motivation?
I signed up at pokerroom back in 1999. Totally new to poker, they only seemed to have limit games but I was hooked on the 800 player freerolls, if I could get in on time. Dial up & 400 used to sneak in after I clicked.
I lost my login, so when i signed up in 2002 I went through a website. I was offered 1000 free chips for signing up for real money. I did it and got 1000 play money chips (duh)
Even a bigger duh, duh, I bought a poker strategy e-book for about $50. By the time i finished reading it, I thought I knew more about poker than the author so I decided to do my own website. Knew nothing about SEO, getting links or design, but it was my first introduction into the internet, never mind dreamweaver.
5 years of poker affiliating and I feel ready to start off at the ground level

Where did you sign up?
Tiger Gaming
What website got you there?
Back than they still allowed tv ads in canada and the Tiger ones were on alot
What was your motivation?
Motivation to play poker was when I joined a league game. There are two members who are just amazing with the game...and numbers are nothing for them. Anyway 2 years later I still chat with them even though none of us play in that league anymore but they have some pretty solid advice when it comes to analysis and theory.

My first time playing poker was in 2003 playing at party poker... A little while later I found out about being a poker affiliate when I was offered a free poker chip set for playing at pacific poker. I figured they must be getting paid for me to sign up...So I figured I would sign up all my friends

I became an affiliate under Micon over at NWP back in the day....never even played poker until maybe a year after I started affiliating at PartyPoker, lol. PokerStars was my first real site I played at, then I degenerated my resources and played at all the other bigger sites as well, eventually quitting my job as an investment banker to pursue poker and internet marketing.

I can't remember that far back. I think Paradise and Pokerroom were the first two rooms I played at.
Remember the old days when 100-200 Limit was the biggest game online. And with that you would need to have a conversation with Lee Jones about why you were qualified to play at those tables. Wow, how times have changed.

Pacific poker for me...omaha tables were soooo loose...I think I signed up through PL... I liked them cause they used to have like 100+ sites listed there...I used to like playing at the little crappy new sites...i don't really know why. I was a big fan of a little site called something like tropicspoker or tropicalpoker or pokertropics (they shut down a while ago but I think theres another site with kinda the same name)...I won $50 because my fullhouse was the highest hand of the day...lol...a very small site

Where did you sign up?
Party Poker
What website got you there?
Wasn't actually a website, I just heared a lot about the site from advertising in the media and such that it made sense to join a room that I had heared about before.
What was your motivation?
I really enjoyed playing poker, and decided to make the transition into the online world to try and win some extra money here and there.
After Party Poker I signed up at Stan James, because a friend of mine recommended the room to me. I really enjoyed my time there and kind of fell in love with the whole Microgaming network. So yeah, the first few rooms I signed up at were not due to any websites pointing me in the right direction. However, I'm fairly sure that I signed up through PokerListings for any other sites after that point to get the best bonuses possible.
