Ok, here are a couple of things that we all know to be true:

1. Party Poker has openly said that they are against affiliates offering rakeback.
2. Rakeback can be defined as 'giving players (that sign up under you) back a portion of the revenue that they generate for the cardroom'.
3. Poker Source Online had a Party Poker 'rewards' system that is not much different than the one described here (i.e. the rakeback comes in the form of items, gift cards, etc. instead of cash).
4. Poker Source Online's 'rewards' system was shut down by Party Poker because it was considered to be a form of rakeback.

------------------------------------------------------

Now, explain to me how this site is not a Party Poker rakeback site? Because you gather the individual player stats yourself instead of creating individual trackers?

Give me a #%@^ing break.

I give this less than a month.

Well, Quinn did say that he has the approval of Party Poker. If Party is ok with this, I can see this succeeding.

PokerSourceOnline also had the "approval" of Party Poker. Hell, Party was sending them individual player stats each month so they could pay rakeback.

Quinn very well might have the approval of his affiliate manager to do this. But when the approval of his affiliate manager comes directly into conflict with the stance of upper management, I doubt highly that he'll have the blessing for too long.

PSO is a huge player. So if it can happen to PSO I guess it could happen to anyone in the industry. I still hope for his sake that Quinn's got something so concrete that he won't get screwed over. Maybe some incriminating pictures of Mike Sexton? B)

How exactly do you monitor a player? Is there something we have been missing?

You are not missing much, Jeremy is right--monitoring of players is an imperfect science. It will most likely be a combination of knowing what limits our player play, then data mining and looking at hand histories.

This will determine what "category" the player is in--fish, shark, or VIP--and the earnings for each category will be shared.

This way it has nothing to do with individual MGR but rewards are given out as fairly and accurately as possible.

Hope this helps,

Don't mean to bug, but what ended up happening with the site? Party change their minds?

I noticed PPcomps.com does not exist anymore. What happened? It redirects to PPfree.com... Can you explain?
