Default Why don't my visitors like my site?

stats for this month show 201 uniques, and out of all the visits, 77% of visitors are leaving within 30 seconds. Site in sig. Feedback is appreciated. Thanks

i dont know, but one thing that could turn away visitors and make them click that back button fast is that your site doesnt line up properly in IE6.

For my site 40% of visitors still use IE6

How many of the uniques are coming from the SE's?

Here si my two cents

First I find myself preoccupied with way to much stuff. Between both sidebars being full of text links, ads etc I am not sure where to begin.

Second I just skimmed it real quick and the first page is pretty much sales pitches. I didnt read it but with all the room logos or this software is great because it can be a definite turn off.

The only news story on that was posted was the Bodog and it had been cut to a one or two liner. Not trying to cut ya down I know its hard also it looks like the site just started in June...right?

I am in my 6th month now and just peaking 120 uniques a day. Some days are less (mostly weekends) but traffic is just starting. Its funny, this week your feeling like wtf and next week you'll be bouncing so freaking high when you hit another good point.

I would try and organize the side menus a bit....than again it could just be me.

Another thing to keep in mind is if most of your traffic is coming from PAW or the other affiliate forums due to your sig link then you shouldn't expect anything out of those hits. The link in your sig here should account for most of those hits judging by my past experiences.....If you keep adding content, your hits from google will grow and grow...I would pick a few of your best and most unique pages and use social bookmarking to get those pages some backlinks and traffic. If you write a great article and it doesnt get any links...your not gonna rank for it. There is a time period from the time google indexes a page and google places that page in the supplimentals due to it not having any backlinks....in this industry natural backlinks are very hard to come by so your going to have to use other means to get those pages some links....so in other words..write some content....get it some backlinks right away...and then repeat the process.

------------
on another note remember that its ALOT easier to keep pages out of the supplementals than it is to GET pages out...

Your site loads too slow. Part of that is because you have 47 images on the page.

On a 56k connection, it's going to take ~ 2 minutes for that page to load.

I also agree with Kaus - the only content I can find above the fold is advertising. Whether people like that much advertising or not, they're going to leave your site quickly. They'll either click on an ad and leave, or they'll go to another site to find content they want to read.

Good thing any poker player with a 56K Modem is obviously not someone you want to signup for your sites anyway.

Here is a big problem. Your site name www.Poker-Speak.com
Who are we speaking to? There are no forums and there doesnt seem to be any form of communication going on at your site.

If your site is strictly a strategy site, that would make it more difficult to retain users for subsequent visits. You will have to make a daily commitment of putting up fresh and new material (you should be anyway!)everyday.

The other thing is it seems your site is a walking billboard. The problem with this is, even though you may have some of the worlds greatest content, if people click on to your site and it appears to be all advertising, they will not take the time to actually see what your site has to offer.

Where are your site visitors coming from? If you find it hard now to get users to stay more then 30 seconds, good luck conviencing them of signups for poker sites.

Its more work AFTER your site is created and full of content then it is to create the site and put the content up.

Stay commited to the goal. Do not give up and you will find it easier and easier to make money in this business. Find your niche.

Find your niche
I think there is so much irony in this. Find a niche is easier said than done...I think I have gone so many different ways and just recently came up with a plan, a goal and am focused on how I want to do it.

I just see a resemblance in that statement that holds true in the "real world"
