I think putting business cards in poker books in bookstores and libraries is a great idea. With that being said, I don't think you should limit yourself to just poker books. Why not sports related books. There is a huge connection between sports and gambling. You can even advertise your sportsbook you have on your website.

If you're looking for a gem to sign up under you, insert business cards into books relating to "Gambling Addiction."

C'mon, this is a business, don't get soft on me.

I was thinking about buying a pack of 20 acrylic business card holders. I'm not sure yet how or where I would use them. They hold about 40-45 cards. They cost about a $1.25 each w/ shipping. If I put them in bathrooms at busy places I think I can expect them to get thrown away or taken. I'm gonna go down to a place that sells poker supplies to see if they let me leave my cards in a holder.

Does anybody have any ideas where I can put them?

Since we have sunk to new lows of putting bonus codes in gambling addiction books, I thought I would comment on a little experiment I ran this week. I created a blog and posted a pic of a very cute college girl. The blog just talked about her playing poker on party and visiting website (which were of course mine). I than just had her circulate through various boards and post on different poker topics. She would make some innocous post but because of her pic people would check out her info and go to her blog. Damn, if her blog didnt get bombarded. I got the idea from a real life Poker Diva who has an entourage of hundreds follow her throughout her tournament play. This young lady is a marketing tsunami and doesnt even know it. I over did my cheap and shameless promoting tactic and got busted by some wary players. But my test was successful. We all know that sex sells but I think making these sex objects more approachable is the key. Pics of Ms. Hiatt are great but can you play online poker with her or exchange bb messages.

Don't worry sportsnutz I'll be there waiting for you in my new GS430 with a glass of Dom.

Great idea though Maximo. If any of you follow the board on RGP, you know how obsessed these dudes are with jennicide on PokerStars. Sex does sell......................If I didn't have a wife and daughter I would consider getting into adult websites.

Has anyone else set up private tables at Party or Empire for their "niche" groups. I have found this to be very effective.

Here is a cool unique way to advertise:

USERNAME in online video games.

For example, using TIPS4POKER.com as my name on Counterstrike or Everquest. This may not be the BEST way to advertise but its interesting and unique and falls in the branding category. The more people you see with that name the more it sticks in peoples head and becomes a part of normal daily life.

Thats a good idea. I am not familiar with the sims online but I have a buddy who is on there all the time. Couldn't you build a virtual pokerroom there or something and name it your .com or promote a bonus code when people are visiting.

Sorry for my stupidity about the sims, I've never played before. I do know it is a virtual world though.

one of my best ever guerilla tactics ever when I just started out online was getting a few friends call in to various radio stations when they had quizes etc.

Got in on the 3 biggest stations and when on-air and I had answered i advertised the shit out of my url until they cut the connection hehe

h34r:

Ohh man the war stories I could tell about my online carreer!
