I saw this website too. They will design your cards/flyers/brochures at a very reasonable price.

This is a varation to the cards in the books. I am a member at one of those online dvd rental clubs. I rent the WSOP discs and tape my cards to the back of the protective sleeves they come in. So far no signups. I am guessing the sleeves were simply replaced with new ones. It was worth a shot though.

This brings up another idea, I just thought of while writng this that I havent tried. Go to the video store, and rent poker or gaming related movies (WSOP, rounders) But your card into the case when returning it. Not sure if this will work or not.

Finally, I found an untapped place to put my bonus code in the summer. The idea has now been "found" by other AM's and therefore is pretty much dead. But what I did was went to download.com, and wrote a review for all those poker calculators and poker programs. I said something like software ok, but for real action go to pp.com and enter code. Total players from this experiment:

Play Money: 135
RMP: 23

I was on the CPA so I made a few bucks for 4 minutes of work

Has anyone tried the cards in the poker supplies idea? If so how were the results? I visited my local walmart today, they sell lots of chips, and have some poker software that would allow a card to be slipped into them. Now to fiure out the sell through rate, and hitem up when they sell through the ones with cards in them already.

Heres a few more I thought of:

Visit your local beer store (easy enough) drop your cards into the cases. Hopefully some dude is sitting around, had a few beers see that cards and says shit I have been thinking of trying online poker.

Also, I was thinking about setting up a booth or something similar in a mall or other high traffic location and buying/building a poker table. Put up a sign with something like win this table, or 2nd price win these chips. Good way to capture their email or other info. Also all these players are locally targetted so you already have a base for a local niche site. Not sure about the costs of setting this up in a mall. Going to look into it, as I was previously considering importing some chip sets and selling them at a good price.

Better yet ask the owner of the liquor store to display your cards or fliers in the store and give him a nice write up on your site or tell him you'll give him a free Party account funded with $50.

You'd be amazed at some of things you will actually get a yes too if you just ask.

The one thing I am wondering about the offline promotions with cards is, should I be pushing my website, which would contation a review of top 5 poker rooms, or just plug party cards. The only thing about the party cards is how many people already have accounts with them

What other lanuages does party have? If you built a website in a foreign language, how would you get traffic to it?

Also, how do you setup private tables? Are they permanent?

OK, gang. I'm relatively new to this affiliate thing.

Having got the idea for the 'bookmarks' in the bookstores here I felt I had to give some additional information on what I've done to make it more successful.

Generally, just putting your card in there is ok but dropouts, and the fact that it's pretty noticeable it was just placed there tends to reduce the overall hit rate from what it could be. So I brainstormed a bit....

Go to your local office supply store and find clear, laminate, self-adhesive business card holders (they're used a lot for ID holders). Put your cards in there and literally adhere them to the inside back of the book binder. On the back of the cards print a professional looking layout that refers to the book in question and implies its a bonus that comes along with the book and place that side out.

The end result is that it looks like it was created by the book publisher, it's professional, and it literally triples your hit rate. The only thing I ask is please don't take my idea if you're in the Saint Louis metropolitan area

ppr, great idea ! I was also concerned about them falling out. Do you place just the party card in there or a card promoting your website? I suppose if you have a laminate holder you could put a few cards in there. Pacific Poker also has there cards. Are you saying you make a different card for each book?

Personally I make a card specific to the best selling books (Super System 2 for example) and a more generic card for everything else
