Default Using Online Forms and a database

I want to use online forms to collect data from clients and store the data in a database of some sort....i.e. which sites my clients have signed up for, which promotions they have completed.

I don't have a clue about how to do this (or a lot of other things, evidently).

I've looked at outfits like Logiforms and aweber, and the forms look ok and easy enough to do (although services seem pricey) but they do not seem to offer a solution to transferring the data from the forms to a database.

Is this the type of thing you have to hire a coder to do? (I described what I wanted to one outfit referred to on PAW, and they said they wanted $1500).

My virtual server has MySQL available, and a formbuilder.
I just do not know how to bring the two together.
Anybody know of any tutorials anywhere?

I am also interested in this. I can program it in php or something to collect the data, but does anyone have or can you recommend any programs that do all this for you making it very easy to email the users, etc.?

for non-programmers logiform is pretty easy.

Everything can be downloaded into Excel, which in-turn is very easy to convert to Access for example, not sure about the Mysql part of it, but I'm sure that must be an option too.

We use a combination of tools to manage our email addresses. These are a bit different than the awebers and constant contact, as the system stays on your computer and you manage it directly. It manages emails, allows you to set up rules, auto responders, mass email etc...

Email List Manager

We also use the affiliate program manager to tie everything in directly. We've been very satisified using the mail loop program, easy to use and easy to manage. If you can make your forms submit an email with a certain title, you can set up mail loop to make any email with a certain title inserted to a certain group. If you want to email everyone in that group, you can now easily do so.

Default not a total solution

I did not really get the sense that the email list manager referenced above really is able to convert data from responder forms into a database.

I want to use something like radio buttons, so clients can just click on the sites they have already signed up at, and have that transferred into a database. Yes, I get it - that a follow-up responder can be tailored according to which ones they click on...but I still want the data entered in a spread sheet or something.

Also, I found the email list manager somewhat distastefully hyped on the link above, and the sell was a little too "hard." It seems over-priced, to me.

I really hope someone has another solution.

For simple forms you can use www.formsite.com

You are able to fit it into your own site and cutomize it too.

Works for somethings really well.

Aweber does everything you've mentioned above and more. I've been with them for a long time and have zero complaints.

Default aweber

Thanks, Georgia, I had them referred to me once before, but I did not get the impression you could create website database functionality. Perhaps I need to contact them directly.
