.php and .html

Hi guys,

I recently discovered today that an addon page of my forum was a PR3 which is the same as the index page.

However theres only a few other addon pages that are a PR1 on the site so i was kind of shocked to see it.

The page itself was just something quick i threw onto the forum so i havent intergrated it properly i.e having all the header and left column so its easy to navigate.

I havent SEO'd anything on the page at all and you'l no doubt be able to take a look at the page source to see that.

I was just wondering is it better to have .html pages rather than .php i understand roughly this is what vBseo does to your threads etc but i didnt know it could have such an effect on my addon pages.

so how come the odds calculator is getting such a better PR?!

Page rank has nothing to do with how a page is named. Page rank is only related to inlinks. The page with higher rank has more links to it.

but the odds calculator page doesn't have one link linking to it, thats what i dont understand.

Why its ranked pretty well for nothing and it has no links linking to it...

5866 links according to yahoo. LOL, are you sure this is your site? It looks like you link to it from every page.

i have it in my left navbar which is sitewide but so is every other page on there.

I was looking for incoming links from elsewhere which is why i say it has no links.

So this takes me back to my initial point, is it better to make all my addon pages .html?

there wont be any more links for the odds calculator than say the arcade .php or the send message .php yet the PR is significantly higher...

There are a few external links, but that is irrelevant. Links are links. You have a sitewide link to it, so of course it has good PR.

Are the arcade and oddscaluculator pages the same age? If the arcade one is newer that could explain its lower PR.

But the main point is the exxtension has nothing to do with PR.

the send message .php was on there the first day i uploaded the forum, so its definetly older than the odds calculator page.

I was just shocked to see it thats all. Could it be to do with the fact the odds calculater page has no links on it? like i say all the others have the sitewide links on them and this is the only page by itself without any links etc quite possibly the least visited page on my site yet still holds a good PR. it just confuses me thats all.
