Hello all. Pardon me for this being my first post on here. I was looking for some guidance. I started out in the Party Partners program recently this week and from small advertising here and there I have gotten 9 players registered under me in 4 days and none have deposited money so far. Pretty wierd people who sign up for a poker site and don't even play for real money. Is this common?? Anyways, today I started advertising at my college.

I go to a very large college and I printed out about 300 Party Poker fliers with my bonus code all over them today and a part on the bottom that about 10 people can rip off of one flier and take an easily detatchable piece off with my bonus code to bring home. Today, I spent about 1 1/2 hours going around from building to building posting flyers everywhere. I did about 75 today in 12 buildings. There are alot of boards where students can post fliers onto. I am pretty sure gambling is not allowed so I made sure I stuck my fliers everywhere possible. I also taped fliers next to doors so when hundreds of students walk out of their classrooms, they can see my bonus code. I plan on tomorrow, Saturday, posting about 225 more fliers all over campus. I'm sure its alot easier to post gambling fliers on Saturdays because there are less people around. My bonus code is MGR on Party and I hope to have some success from this. I'm not really sure though.

Has anyone here had any experience in advertising at a college by fliers? I was thinking about one early morning slipping fliers under all of the doors of a few campus dorms some time too. I will keep everybody posted with my results!

Please post how this goes. I was going to do something similar - I'm also new at affiliating.

I don't know the local rules of posting gambling ads.

Thanks!

Yeah, definitely keep us posted on this. I have recently prepared a bunch of flyers with a website and bonus codes on them. I'll post once I place them.

Okay, so yesterday I started putting out fliers. I only printed about 300 to start out with and I am obviously going to do more as time goes on. I spent about 1 hour walking around campus putting fliers all over the place. I put them on alot of walls and taped next to doors near exits in stairwells to make sure everybody who leaves each building sees my bonus code and ad. Just about all of those were taken down by janitors, faculty, etc. next to the exits but the ones that are on the walls are mostly in areas next to other fliers so they are still there. On the bottom of the fliers I have a part where people can rip off a section and bring the bonus code home. Checking up on yesterdays fliers, there were a bunch of my fliers where I could see the bonus code has been ripped off (probably about 25% of the remaining fliers that weren't torn down). Yesterday, 2 people signed up for party poker with the bonus code. I'm hoping for alot more this weekend. Not too bad for an hour so far.

Now today, I spent about 3 hours walking around a huge dorm. The dorm has about 1,000 people in it, half guys. I put fliers all over the walls, outside of elevators, in bathrooms, and on some doors. People have to sign up and I'm sure I'll get some success. If I had the time, I would hit up the other dorms today on my campus but I guess I'll have to do that another time. I'll keep you guys updated with my results.

Sounds like you're really getting out there. Good luck to you and I really appreciate your updates as we are all looking for unique ideas to propel our business. Keep up the good work. Just so you know, about 1 in 5 play money sign-ups eventually deposit so you're well on your way. A lot of people start out in play money to get their feet wet in online poker before depositing. They are still linked to you as long as they deposit within the next 3 months.

If I were you guys I'd do it for someone like Titan Poker or some where they actually get a real bonus. I think Titan used to give $10 upfront to players who deposited. People love upfront bonuses and you'll find a lot more people deposit if you advertise that. People are skeptical about bonuses now cause they know they're just BS. Also get a forwarded link as well. Get the rooms permission and get something like www.titanpokerUF.com or whatever and send it to your tracking link.

I used to make a bunch of money when I was in college doing that crap. Back then people didnt really know a lot about online poker and a bonus code was a new thing. Try advertising upfront bonuses and I guarantee you will get some depositors. How much they actually play is a different story. Getting them to deposit is 3/4 of the battle though.

If you're having trouble with janitors remeber not to put them out at night. Put them up in the morning. Its best to put them in parking garages and stuff like that.

This is what I used to do and made money with back then. Its not a lot but when you're in college its exactly what you need to start a site online.

I'm willing to bet you could make $1,000 a month advertising a real good bonus and not party poker's bonus.

Later

this might be a stupid question, but how do you print flyers with the 10 portions on the bottom that people can rip off? Thanks.

Default Not very hard.

Just make the flyer about 1/2 the page.

Import it into paint.

Flip the picture.

Extend the length to the full page(this will be a blank area).

Then just type in your link or bonus code. However you choose to promote.

Be sure to space them appropriately.

Preview the print to be sure you like it.

Print them and cut in between the codes/links.

I've noticed that they get removed pretty frequently from boards. Business cards seem to last longer.

Use to put up promotional material at UNC once in a while.

Last time I got questioned by security and was told I had to get it approved. Being after 5PM there was no one to ask for aproval.

One time prior to this I did actually ask for permission and was told just to post away.

Aparently rules change day by day. Technically you have to get stuff approved but no one wants to be bothered with approving or not approving stuff.

And I think if the flyers wern't gambling related I probably wouldn't have even been reminded of the approval rule.
