Watched a movie over the weekend called "Riding Giants". It is about the History of Big Wave Surfing in Hawaii and the northern coast of California.

One individual stands out as the very best, his name is Laird Hamilton, during the course of the movie he makes this statement...

" I dont want to not live my life because i am afraid of what might happen"

This stated after he was asked about attempting to surf waves that are essentially as tall as a 6 story building.

If you have never seen an extended documentary about Big wave surfing, you must see this film, "Step into liquid" is another awesome, awesome film.

After 10 days in maui last month(first time) and seeing the absolute power of the surf on the north coast of that island i have a profound respect for these guys that are...
