What is actually wrong with my site and how do I improve?

So far, looks like a banner farm and the text colors are not friendly.

Maybe you should try a simpler layout and grow from there.

Maybe a blog.

Yeah, trying removing all the banners and starting from scratch. Try a lighter approach to color. The banners at the bottom are tacky. Its the type of banners you see & know you are going to have to fight your way back out again.

How about reviewing it yourself? In that I mean, what do you want to see when you go into a poker site or poker forum?

I would scrap the whole design and do one of the following:

redesign it
Use a nice clean free template (can find the link for you if you like)
Buy a template (try alance).

See it all from a players perspective. Would you sign up through a poker site that looked like that? Get inspiration from other affiliate sites that you like and that are successful.

Way to many banners. I couldnt even count them without losing myself. I would buy a cheap template, you can get him for like $30 and start from there. the banners are over whelming.

I know you have asked before Pomp and people keep telling you this but its the honest truth. You need content that is yours and I would also IMO not be advertising for places like link referral and such sites from yoru site especially your home page. Just my opinon but...

Besides the design (are you serious) and the banner explosion what is your idea with this site? (currently im looking at some uninspiring "i have poker site, make me rich now, poker, poker, money, money" dont get how that ever seemed possible to anybody, maybe bad rethorics from some affiliate programs

I dont get it, but im thinking pomppoker, could be good fun, i like the domain name, if you where to brand an expression like "Pomp it" "Pomp your way to "blank" major live tournament in UK" ect. but the basic is your site at the present cant get a lot of peoples interest.

Poker is an entertainment business, look into entertaining people. I would redesign it, loose ALL the banners, invest some money in a IRL price, come up with some step kinda tournament structure,(players have to sign through you to enter), that is played over time (the winner get the seat), work close with 1 partner pokersite..... "Pomp your way to the ETP". Who would be interested in this? maybe pokerplayers

Advertising to content ratio is about 99.9% advertising and 0.1% content. Try going for 20% advertising to 80% content and see if you don't make more money with the site.

More banners does not mean more sign-ups. You are far more likely to get a sign-up with one well-placed banner in the middle of content, rather than having a few hundred scattered around the outside. But yeah, I would start from scratch and look into some SEO for your next site.

OK I hear what you are saying but am sure you are all just looking at the home page and not the forum.

I have been working with poker rooms and came up with PokerHosts Halloween 666 promo and have started a forum league challenge along with CostaDelPoker and am in discussion with WPT regarding a forum owner/moderator and poker webmasters league with BIG prizes and a game at end for winners members with a trip to Vegas or similar up for grabs.
