I know it's a system that could be abused, but my site almost exclusively promotes incentivized marketing deals, whereby it is very important for the player to be signed up via the correct affiliate to be able to receive the incentive.
Also, clearing all cookies would also remove cookies that I set myself, and use for tracking who referred a particular player to my site. A user clearing all cookies, then refreshing the page or leaving the page before returning to sign up would lead to that player not being attributed to the person who referred him to my site. It would actually save me money in the end, if no one found out, but that's not how I want to do business. If I could run a script directly from the site to clear all cookies (if the user opts in), then I could also tell it to set the referral cookie again, meaning that I can pay the referrer what he deserves.
I hope that's a good enough explanation of what I want to do. If you're still skeptical, I understand.
@offyourface: I'm not sure which sites use "last affiliate counts" as opposed to first, other than TowerGaming. TowerGaming always assigns the referral to the latest affiliate before sign-up. It shouldn't be hard to test though. Clear cookies, use a different affiliate's link, check your cookies to see which affiliate id is stored, then use your own link, check cookies again.
