Greetings

I was just thinking that should i spend my money on translating 450 pages to
chinese? I know this chinese immigrant that is unemplyed and could translate
my website to chinese, this would cost me 6500$ and further updates would
cost me 5 dollars an hour. Also if i will do this, i think i would translate to few
other languages. What do you think, would it be profitable to open in the
chinese market? As far as i know its illegal to play poker in china, not sure tho
but some chinese people still do it. The profit could be massive......

Maybe i should translate to russian, france, germany and few others also if this
would show profitable. The problem is updateing the pages and the cost of the
work, i could only hire unemplyed despred immigrants.

Now what comes to the sites i would promote, only poker room i know that has
chinese landing page is partypoker.com, anyone know any other? Anyway please
share your toughts on this.

Not sure if it is worth it or not. I have been considering it myself as I am temporarily living in Shanghai and was thinking of doing some offline promotions, registered some domains for it that I haven't started developing yet.

I asked one poker room about chinese players and they told me they aren't really very interested as most of the play ended when the bonus requirement was achieved.

That being said, 6500 USD sounds like a lot of money just to try and hope any poker affiliate project pans out. I wouldn't do it.

If you do insist then note that some of the more popular poker rooms such as Pacific Poker (and the 888 casino) are blocked by the great chinese firewall and can't be accessed at all from here.

Godfather

The Asian Market has always been the Mecca for all Online Gambling Companies. The Company I used to work with put in a lot of effort and money into China and Japan especially, and found it very hard.

In Japan it was difficult to get to the people, but China has additional problems - such as no International Credit Cards etc. If you find the right distribution, you get 1000's of downloads, but conversions are relatively low.

Markus, I would not suggest promoting there if you are based there, as they have arrested people for less.

Another problem with china is that its internet isHEAVILY censored. I good idea though would be to have it translated into spanish as it is up there with english for number of people speaking it.

Stephen,

well, not really, I'm Swedish just living here temporarily but yes getting arrested in China isn't on my wishlist so I think I will pass on this one.

Had thought about that problem also, so not like I was going to be standing on Nanjing Lu passing out fliers though.

The pic above is very poor taste IMO...

Anyway, I've seen some companies that won't offer bonuses over there due to fraud. Just one more thing to think about....

That picture WAS most definitely in incredibly poor taste and has no basis being up on a business forum. I've deleted the picture.

If you come across something like that, feel free to click on the button that says "report this post to a moderator".

There's a pretty loose and easygoing atmosphere about the content on these forums, but that was reprehensible.
