Default Pokerpotz - Poker Players Review

As a follow on from the thread below

http://www.pokeraffiliateworld.com/f...html#post72149

I have posted the following on my forum.

This site is not mine and has nothing to do with me or EMS. I have not even read the strategy advice because I'm simply interested in your thoughts on how good or bad the content is.

So if you have the time please visit the site and post the following comments.

1. How would you rate the strategy advice given from 1 to 10?

2. Pick a couple of topics and say what is good or bad about them?

3. Would you return to the site?

4. General overall thoughts on the site?

You must be 100% honest.

I will post comments in this thread.

The first few comments have picked up on spelling and grammar errors. I will post some comments tonight.

I think it's because they are written in American as opposed to English, and your site is a British Poker Forum.

Will have a look at each article, although they all went through a spell checker and were proof read.

Cheers,
Haynesey

OMG - are you scared Haynesey

He's got some serious players over there - they spent years watching PNL and having their play ripped apart and analysed on live TV so their strategy knowledge is gonna be top-notch.

Great opportunity.

There a few spelling and grammar mistakes but you can easily sort them. I have also had a quick look and I don't understand why the main sites you are promoting (with banners) are Mansion and Hollywood as I'm sure these are on the same network.

I think you should just promote one of these sites and remove the other and load a banner from another network.

Also tell your visitors more about the sites you are promoting. For example Mansion have many mtts with overlays and I'm sure they have a 150K guaranteed that has a decent overlay. Also I think that Mansion have increased the rate in which players clear bonuses.

I haven't changed the banners since i started really, i will have a complete change of the sites i am promoting on the side, maybe even some poker software.

I still need to add more pages about tournaments, bonuses etc. Will try get some sorted this week if i'm not to busy with other projects.

Thanks for the opportunity.

Very true! Many of my players (myself included) were regulars on the TV tables. I have many players who have features live on other UK poker shows plus many of the presenters of past and present poker shows are also members.

However Haynessey will get some quality advice and I hope from this he can develop his sites and genarate some decent RMPs.

Great idea Ramchip - In fact I'd be willing to pay for similiar feedback at some point!

Mind you - already had the dogs of 2+2 get their teeth into my site a couple of times and came out only with minor scratches...

Cheers, Mark

Looks dated and it's difficult to read. The lines need to be spaced out more if such a small font is going to be used.

As for the advice I only had time to read one article which was a begginers guide to position. The artle was overly wordy and not very clear at all.

Here's a quote

Quote:
Your position at the poker table is constantly changing relative to the position of the dealer, which moves around the table to the next player in an anticlockwise direction after each hand

I always thought the button moved clockwise. If I came across a site that had even basic stuff wrong then I wouldn't place much trust in the rest of it.

Thought judging on just one read was a little harsh so I read another on pot odds. Here's another quote.

Quote:
Your flush has approximately a 1 in 4 chance of hitting on the river

On the turn a flush draw as a 9 in 46 which is about a 1 in 5 chance to hit on the river this converts to pot odds of approx 4 to 1. So he's almost right but he's using the wrong terminology.

The above comments were from a very respected player from EMS. I think the owner of the site has been very brave to allow my members to review his site and I'm sure if he takes these comments onboard his site will be much better for it.
