You can buy class B shares of Berkshire Hathaway stock for ~1/30 of the price of the class A shares if that helps.

If you watch the price on the class B shares and the class A shares closely enough, you might even find an arbitrage opportunity there somewhere.

I am in TD e-funds in Canada. Low MERs...under 0.5%.

Some of the funds I have are...

Canadian Index Fund
Canadian Dividend Fund

Emerging Markets
Latin America Growth
Entertainment and Comm
Nasdaq Index Fund

It was just a bad day as 90% of stocks dropped today in the worst day in the Stock Exchange in about 6 years.

Warren Buffet isn't even close to the most successful investor in history.

Aside from affiliate work, my 9-5 job (where I'm lucky if I put in 4 hours a day...lol), I day trade. I hold some stocks, but mostly I like to flip them.

Most recently, I bought NOT (TSX Venture Exchange) a few months ago at $0.43. Sold it a last week for $6.96

I'm currently holding ACT (TSX Venture Exchange). It's trading at $0.44. It'll hit $1 by year end.

"Warren Buffet isn't even close to the most successful investor in history."

LOL, care to back up this statement? I've been trading for over ten years now, so you better bring the heat Here's a few numbers for ya:

Berkshire Hathaway has a compounded annual gain of 21.4% compared to 10.4% for the S + P.

The stock is up over 361000% since its inception, not including 2007. I believe that the stock is up another 20% in 2007.

The fact that he posts these numbers even when he is investing billions upon billions of dollars makes it even more mind-boggling.

Sure he isn't posting returns of 200% a year like we can potentially do with our much smaller portfolios, but it's impossible to do when you are managing that much money.

Who has a better track record than Buffett?

Hahaha, wtf. It sounds like PartyForFree is claiming that he's up there on the list of most successful investors in history.

A Google search for "most successful investor" brings back multiple results for Warren Buffett. (Not that Google is the end-all, be-all of all wisdom on the subject.)

But Poker King's numbers are right. It's baffling to me how someone could say that Buffett "isn't even close". He's one of the 3 richest men in the entire world. If you don't measure an investor's level of success by how rich he's gotten investing, then how do you measure it?

Canadian Index Fund
Canadian Dividend Fund

Are solid long-term investments IMO.

Emerging Markets
Latin America Growth
Entertainment and Comm
NASDAQ Index Fund

Are volatile, recent underachiever IMO.

NASDAQ Index Fund..... what made you pick that piece of trash?

I would also look outside the TD family, Corp.

CI Canadian Investment and Mackenzie Universal Resource Fund are top-notch long-term earners.

Think long-term and don't waste too much time daily checking and sweating over your investment stats or poker affiliate stats.

Checking stats 5 times a day wont make you any more money.

Also check out TD Monthly Income - a rock solid fund.
