Changing Keywords on a Page...

On one of my websites I'm looking to change the keywords for the homepage and a few sub pages.

The homepage has a few thousand links to it that have anchor text related to the original term.

If I just change the title and the page around, then start getting links for my new term, will I have any problems with that Google-wise?

I think this may be an interesting topic for new affiliates who are targeting a small niche now, but may later want to expand their horizons once their site is established.

It depends on how related the original keyword phrase is to the new keyword phrase.

They're different words, but they are related. I don't really want to post the exact keywords right now, but it'd be like changing a page from Sit and Go Strategy to Omaha Poker.

Hmmm. I would keep the previous keyword as a secondary keyword, if possible.

Also, I would really think if it is worthy changing them...

If the topics are as different as "omaha poker" and "sit and go strategy", then your page is going to look pretty incongruent with the anchor text pointing at it. It's hard to say without knowing the specific keywords or phrases, but I think I'd probably just launch a new page for a new topic in order to keep the benefit of all that anchor text.
