I do not think this will have any effect either way on legalization. Some will point to "It needs to be illegal, look at what these cheats do" and some will make the point "If the industry were regulated this would not have happened". It's a wash IMO.

Cheaters play like that. The only previous incident like this featured a cheater playing EXACTLY the same way. He had AQ against 22 playing headup, and on a AQ2 flop check called, check called a blank on the turn, and check folded AQ on a AQ279 board on the river. Cheaters being stupid, greedy fools is not news.
