Pokerroom.com accusing me of fraud and blocking my aff account
I got a special bonus deal for my players but before announcing it I tested to sign up myself to make sure the tracker and bonus code work. I usually do this. I only raked like 2 dollars. Now they are closing my account and withholding my earnings of $200 from other players! Have anyone ever heard of such thing?!

Yes, I've heard of such a thing. It's usually against the rules at a poker room to sign up under your own affiliate code.

thats pretty sick...
Back when doylesroom was hot they caught me with my own account under my own affcode. They just deleted my pokeraccount and let me play with my aff-account. Nothing happened to my affiliate account.
I used to signup under my own affiliate code to make sure the link/code was working but not anymore.
Looks like they went extreme on this one.

I think they could have had some understanding in this case since I wanted to make sure the bonus code worked. And the mail they sent me made it look like I had committed a horrible crime and was very threatening. They wrote lines like:
"You can be assured that we see a very clear picture of the activity you have been involved in."
and
"Bear in mind that we are able to prosecute fraudulent activity to the fullest extent of the law."
I mean, isn't that a bit drastic?

I think that is drastic. You should have explained to them you wanted to test it first though. I don't think it's unreasonable to test a tracker before promoting it, it's just smart business.
I would not put any large amount of money/work into an affiliate program without testing the tracker first. Again I'd be clear with your AM what you are doing so they can delete the cpa or rev share once your test is done.

PM Katrien here. I imagine if you give a decent explanation, they will probably allow you to keep your affiliate account open.

I have been very clear. I have also pm'ed the affiliate manager here and she told me that there was nothing she could do. I would not recommend this program to anyone.
This is the reply I got from Katherin:
Quote:
Hi Carl-Johan,
This is exactly what the problem was about. I just got word from our accounting and fraud department and I am sorry to say that unfortunately I cannot take care of this.
You have broken our terms and conditions about self referring and that is why you got blocked. I am sorry about this but there is no way to unblock you.

Well, there are still many good programs out there. I should never had promoted pokerroom.com after reading about those false checks that US affiliates got.

I hope the lesson you took from this is to not sign up under your own affiliate code at a poker room without checking to make sure it's okay 1st.
