Default Bodog's "Predatory" CPA Terms

While I vaguely remember being bothered by this Term when I first signed up with Bodog ages ago, I had forgotten about it until recently. Did you know that affiliates don't earn CPA on a player unless they deposit in the same calendar month as they sign up? Perhaps someone could chime in and tell me how that possibly makes any sense.

Bodog is still earning off a player that I refer regardless of when they deposit. However, I'm not compensated for that player if they take their time depositing or has trouble finding a suitable payment method at a room that has a very low number of options.

We've all seen those Full Tilt players on our stats that signed up 2 years ago and just got around to making their first deposit. Does that make them any less valid of a player or earn the poker room any less money to pay out to the affiliate?

If this isn't a stupid, backward, "predatory" Term then I don't know what is. I really can't think of any other program that has a similar policy. I'm always earning off of previously signed up players at other rooms. In this case, I guess only Bodog is allowed to.

That is stupid. I have a player that signed up at FullTilt in 2005 and just recently cashed in an FTOPS event and is now on the top 10 TLB this month. Needless to say his rake is over $3500 so far.

Had Fulltilt had these terms, I would not be making $ on this player.....

Wow, if that's the case you need to get on rev. share asap. Never heard that one before. I'm pretty sure rev. share isn't the same way?

Normal base CPA at Bodog is $100 per new depositing player ($20 minimum) in the SAME calendar month. You can also switch to revenue share, although I know their AM's are pretty strict when it comes to letting affiliates do this.

On MGR, I earn way more at Bodog than $100 per depositing play. I mean a lot more too. My players at Bodog seem to be worth more than any other site.

I'm not on their standard CPA rate, but it's still a stupid policy that costs me (and any other CPA affiliates) earned money.

well I'll post it here because a few people PM me.

On average my players are worth to bodog (before paying me) $1000 in their first 12 month (they are worth more because some fall in love with that site and are playing afer the 1st year).

Even at 25% MGR = $250 for first 12 months per player if the player value is the same. I don't see why it wouldn't be for most. Perhaps if marketing to freerollers or something like that then CPA would be better.

For volume affiliates or anyone can get a higher MGR I would think unless Bodog is handing out $300+ CPA that MGR would be a better choice anyways.

With these terms on CPA (if followed) then for sure MGR would be better because banking options are limited for Americans and a player might not deposit for a while.

Also I know bodog offers some affiliate a higher MGR on poker only.. IMO this is a very bad deal too no matter how high the % is. I market bodog on the poker end but find a lot of the profit comes from poker players donking off profit in the casino and sportsbook.

It definitely is in their terms for CPA affiliates. I do so well with them conversion wise though that I just kind of ignore it. Your affiliate manager most likely monitors your players to give you credit for anyone who signs up within the 30 days (it's 30 days, not actually the same month). Pete had always done this for me, and Im pretty sure my new manager Grant does it as well...
