Poker News published chip counts from from CP's website last year... just a little food for thought. I'd like an answer to this thread before I cry tonyg and pokernews a river.

It's like - hey if you steal from me that's bullshit, but if I steal from you than it's just good fucking business.

Geoffvro, please check the specific thread you are referring to for an answer and keep all correspondence in regards to that issue within that thread.

However feel free in this thread to point me to a link or an area somewhere that shows PokerNews stealing CardPlayers chip counts from last year. Our live reporting software was not even implemented until The 2007 Aussie Millions.

Furthermore it's not an issue of reprinting chip counts at the end of the day...... it's about copying them and taking credit for them 30 seconds after one of our 40+ reporters post them on the internet. Not too mention the contract and T&C's set forth by Harrahs on the media coverage.

Everyone should also check out this video by CardPlayer.com, concerning Bluff Magazine copying stuff from their site:

Ridiculous, right?

"It's a little unfortunate when we find certain people... copying off of others..."

Scary. You would have thought they would have taken that video off their site by now. Talk about looking like dimwits.

Such hostility...it's not that I don't understand...it's that I don't agree.

FYI...The PartyForFree website was designed that way with direct consent from our AM at Party, who cleared with his supervisor as well. We very successfully leveraged the Party brand. I don't see anything wrong with that.

Regarding chip counts, when do you think it's ok for someone else to post some standings? An hour? Two? At the end of the day? Why is ok in an hour instead of 30 minutes, or 20 minutes, or any specific timeframe.

i dont see why everyone is getting on card players case..... I find what they did is smart....

BESIDES There probably getting a nice conversion rate of real money players....

its smart that they got the same info from poker news...Because they avoided labor costs for the reporters that they didnt have to hire for them...

I love capitalism....

If it where live TV I would understand, but why shouldn't they be allowed to report the standings? You can't refuse them freedom of speech. If they don't copy your content directly I see nothing wrong.

How is it smart to show people that you will sink to all levels just to obtain the players? How does being underhanded and shady prove to be intelligent. Any jackass straight out of highscool can do what they did. What they should have done is report at the very least who their source was for this info, not mislead others into thinking that it their reporters.

IMO
