I think that players should not be able to jump from one affiliate to the next. Is that not what we were told with Carbon Poker and Poker.com? So why is ok that Poker.com adds Carbon and not allow affiliates to swap players yet another skin can? This is what we were told and it was made very clear that it would not happen.

It should be all or nothing. There has to be a better system in place than this. Players having the ability to move across the board IMO will only cause problems.

I have no problem not being able to sign a player because they are under another affiliate. Why because I dont want my players moving either.

Anyhow I am done with this, I will speak to Ellen or wait for her reply.

Wish you the best of luck!

As I have to leave this is my last post for today as well

"I think that players should not be able to jump from one affiliate to the next. Is that not what we were told with Carbon Poker and Poker.com? So why is ok that Poker.com adds Carbon and not allow affiliates to swap players yet another skin can? This is what we were told and it was made very clear that it would not happen."

That was an internal decision of the Carbon brand. They are not jumping from one affiliate to another but from a poker room to another poker room.

"It should be all or nothing. There has to be a better system in place than this. Players having the ability to move across the board IMO will only cause problems.

I have no problem not being able to sign a player because they are under another affiliate. Why because I dont want my players moving either. "

So someone should not be alowed to target a player becouse is a customer of the competition? You are not targeting your competition players at all, you only convert new players who are starting to play poker?

"Anyhow I am done with this, I will speak to Ellen or wait for her reply.

Wish you the best of luck!"

Same to you!

"Prohibition" not only works, it is the industry norm. Rakeback in itself is a poor concept aimed at people who like getting tax refunds. Just lower the rake 30% if you want more money in the hands of players.

Building a business model on both a dumb idea, and calling partner sites the "competition" is quite a bad idea.

Yeah. Don't be a parasite.

COMBINING players. This notion that a network should canabilize itself is why many networks have failed. Looking at your partners as your prime market leads to failure. Find new players. Target the real competition, not your partners.

PPP did you bothered to read my other posts as well regards us not targeting any network sites?
So you are not promoting any sites which are part of the networks doing rake back? Also all major rooms/networks apart from Party/Stars are stupid to allow rakeback?

You are taking my words out of context and giving your own interpretation.

So your players are regulars of rakeback portals but they somehow decided that is no good to them and didn't moved to another network. Same none will move to another network room(nordica....) to get the bonus or whatever promo they offer to new customers...
There is also no need to get some regulars at 1/2 and above tables. Your players are happy to wait few hours to get a decent game started.

I will try to avoid any more polemics on this.

I thought so, but maybe I missed something. What about what I wrote mischaractarized something you said. Please be specific.

"So you are not promoting any sites which are part of the networks doing rake back?"

How is that relevant? Stay on topic please.

"Also all major rooms/networks apart from Party/Stars are stupid to allow rakeback?"

Um of course, but who is this you are refering to? Full Tilt has a bit of rakeback. Who are you saying allows rakeback, besides Microgaming?

"Anyway thanks for taking my words out of context and giving your own interpretation."

I get to have my interpretation. You can't take that. You said what you said. The consequences of that are yours.

"So your players are regulars of rakeback portals"

Um, no. Where did that come from? LOL

"but they somehow decided that is no good to them and didn't moved to another network."

That statement sounds incoherent. What are you trying to say?

"Same none will move to another network room(nordica....) to get the bonus or whatever promo they offer to new customers..."

What are you talking about? Any player I direct to any cardroom is free to use their own free will. I don't own a cradroom, and I don't own a skin (and those two things are not the same).

"There is also no need to get some regulars at 1/2 and above tables. Your players are happy to wait few hours to get a decent game started."

My players do whatever they want.

"I will try to avoid any more polemics on this."

Good thing, because you didn't make any sense here. Let's get back to the issue. You stated Nordica and carbon Poker are your "competitors", and that stealing their players is a valid business model. I think that idea is doomed. You should be targeting players at Microgaming or Ongame or wherever, and not trying to hurt your partners. You should adopt a philosophy of cooperating with them, lest you crash and burn like the other skins who adopted an open-to-parasite model.

Hi Guys,

Our network does not allow for rakeback in any form and so we were extremely unhappy to hear about IronDuke promoting this.

As such we have been in contact with IronDuke’s representatives and have now suspended all new player signups from joining their room as a result of them breaching our network policy. This suspension will remain in place until further discussions have taken place and we allow them to operate once again.

I will say this to all so it is very clear – the Merge Gaming Network does not allow rakeback in any form and if we see any of our skin sites offering this again, we will take action.

Cheers,

Ellen
