Okay so I have a question about Ebay. There seems to be a lot of people who make great second incomes or main incomes from selling shit on ebay. Are there any models for doing this? Are they just buying shit from a wholesaler then selling it on ebay?

I have actually researched some fishing products, and compared wholesale prices to what people are actually paying for the products online and a lot of the time, the seller would be losing money if they infact owned for the dealer prices I see on those given products.

So does anyone know any good ebay info on starting a good ebay side biz?

the only thing worth selling on ebay unless you buy in obsurd amounts is either selling unique items that nobody else sells or only a few sell, or products you have created your self. But, to get your feedback up a good trick is to sell pencils. I use to successfully run an ecommerce website and sold 1,000's of electronics on ebay a few years ago before the market was completely saturated.

I knew a guy that would buy stuff from restaurants that went out of business for dirt cheap and make a ton on ebay.

Sell way below cost and charge abhorrent shipping charges.

Laugh, but that is a big tactic. People see "buy in now" for far less than anywhere else and hit the buy button, next thing they know they are obligated to $100 shipping on a $20 item.

More of a warning than a business model.

Ill explain the reason for that, it is not to sucker someone out who doesnt see it, It is because you dont have to pay any ebay fees for shipping.

So if i have an item for $100 i would sell it for a $1 with $99 shipping and i only pay the fees on the $1

That makes sense.

BUT, i have seen numerous items that sell for a reasonable if not awesome price and the shipping is way out of line for what it should be. It is an obvious attempt to extract profit.
Not a tactic that the reputable powersellers use, but it is there.

Charging excessive shipping and handling fees is against eBay' terms and conditions. Sellers who do so risk having their accounts with eBay closed, especially if and when buyers complain. IMO, it's not a good strategy.
