BCS a Mess : What they deserve
Now with #1 and #2 going down today and the #3 team having played one of the worst / easiest schedules ever for a national championship contender I am happy to say the BCS is officially a sham.
How many more years are teams and fans going to have to put up without a playoff system. I know the money making chancellors of the major college football programs are quick to run and defend their system. With such convincing arguments of "the players need to study for exams" being my personal favorite. haha.
If division 1-AA can figure it out then so can 1-A.
With college football becoming more and more evenly matched throughout the country it is only going to become more difficult to chose which 2 teams deserve the right to play for the title.
I don't want to see who a bunch of writers and media persons think should play. Half of whom don't even see half of the teams they are voting for each week. And I am tired of teams that start to low in the initial rankings not even having a chance unless a bunch of teams lose in front of them. I want to see the teams who have made themselves into the best teams by the end of the year play for the championship.
GIVE ME A PLAYOFF SOON!

I agree man. It's for reasons like today that the entire BCS concept is flawed. It's been an unreal college season we've had this year -- and a more unreal final weekend. We all know Ohio State is a shoe-in for the #1 spot...but will LSU make a realistic jump from #7 to #2 just because of their win in the SEC Championship over Tennessee? Lot of analysts and writers think so...but who knows what's gonna happen after the new standings come out. There's gonna be no realistic justice that comes from this...ugh.

I'm sure LSU will make the unlikely jump from seven to two. Because if they don't, the BCS is screwed.

I won't be watching the championship this year...maybe if oklahoma goes, I think they're actually the best team in the country, i don't know how they lost to colorado, but i can see texas techs spread O taking advantage of them, but they murdered missouri who I think is actually the 2cnd best team in the nation.
My rankings in terms of who I think are actually the best teams right now would be
1. Oklahoma
2. Missouri
3. Kansas
4. USC
5. LSU
There either needs to be a playoff system or every conference needs a conference championship game like the Big 12, SEC, and ACC. Those Games at least allow the top conference teams to battle against eachother.

No comment really....but a decent enough LOL has to be put out there after seeing those rankings bro. We'll just have to agree to disagree.

AP, and coaches polls have Ohio State, LSU, and Oklahoma as 1-2-3 respectively. Harris poll has not been made public yet.
I think the BCS guys already ran everything through the computer, and now they're scratching their heads and saying "how the *uck are we going to explain this s**t".

They'll probably just give in to the public and what they've wanted pretty much all year -- Ohio State and LSU for the championship. No one really wins with the BCS at all...especially after a season like this past year. Oklahoma is definitely up there as one of the best teams in the nation, but along with USC, they're really just the hottest as of late. Despite their losses this season, OSU and LSU are still hands down the best teams in the nation -- and if a biased BCS selection committee sees it right, they would put LSU in the big game against the Buckeyes.

addaminsane,
You must be from the Midwest to have Kansas ranked ahead of USC.
I think USC and Oklahoma are by far the 2 best teams right now in the country.
Kansas is a good team, but to watch them get beat by Mizzou, then have OU smach them puts them down a few notches in my book.
Biggest shocker of the day though has to go to the Rose Bowl who picked Illinois to play USC. WOW! Where are the Georgia Bulldogs to play the Trojans.

Your right i'm from the midwest, I actually go to kansas state u and absolutely hate KU, However I think they are a much better team this year than those other teams. Theres really no point in arguing about any teams though because u just cant tell really the way college football is set up. The only sports where the best team wins championships consistently is MLB and NBA cuz they play a series.

Corey, how do you think I felt when Arizona State got passed on the at-large bid for the Fiesta Bowl! My alma matre got completely rolled in favor for the -- GULP -- Holiday Bowl?!?!?!
Talk about injustice.
