Default adding RSS new feeds..question

alright guys..im new to web design so stay with me...
I have heard alot of ppl. talking about RSS news feeds on their sites..so..what does this mean? does it mean that they don't have to manually update news on their website? And if so, how do u incorporate it into ur site..eg: html code?
I'm using dreamweaver...could u please tell me what is involved?

I have done a search on this but all i can seem to find is subscribing to a personal service, that is for the purpose of gathering and reading news that interests u personally. I can't seem to find any info. on how to implement this kind of thing into sites.
any comments welcome
cheers

Well, it depends on what you want to do and what extension your site uses (ex www . yoursite . com / index.php)

If you just want fresh content for your visitors, then check out rss2javascript.com.

If you want fresh content for your visitors and the search engines, then it's a bit more complex and it would depend on your extensions.

Sorry to say this, but once again, it depends.

If the rss feed supplies the image, then yes (but not using rss2javascript). I'm not sure where you are getting your feed from, but if it's pokernews.com, I don't think they supply the image in the feed.

Soooooo......To answer your question, yes, it's a bit harder to do.

using javascript to display rss feeds makes it so the spiders cant crawl it, its very easy to use php to display the feed, all you need to do is change your extention and use a program like rssfeedreader.com the program will generate the code and you just place it where you would like it on your site! at least this is my take on it and it works for me! if anyone has a better way let us know!
