Question Site for affiliates, increase all of our incomes

Hi, GreatestPokerRooms.com, a site where affiliates like all of us may post their links. A new and unique concept that we are building up on. Our initial idea was to go directly through poker sites but have lately decided to open up bidding to affiliates first and later get poker sites to participate when traffic is built up. This latest decision was mostly due to big sites not wanting to care about small time advertising.

I just joined PAW and I'm fairly new to poker site affiliates but have enjoyed internet marketing for a while now. So I'm hoping that community here will help me and a partner out in getting this site to be a success, and we also hope to get some of you a nice return as well.

So I'm open to any questions/suggestions, I'm a web developer myself and can fix and add things quickly without having to go through whole project management overhead. I'm not going to explain what the site is about hoping to get feedback as to what information should be added or removed from the site itself, please take a look

One big question I have at this time, do poker affiliates, PAW including allow use of custom images? Do they care whether a visitor comes through some other non-banner image license-wise? At this moment our problem may be with the non-standard banner sizes that we have, do you think it's a problem?

Thanks, looking forward to becoming a part of this community!

Having done some research I now understand that it's best to obtain written permission to post custom images and banners (this PAW thread is on the topic, and I've read several Affiliate Partnership Agreements that state "use of custom images possible but needs prior written permission"). With my web site though I do not want the busy-ness of animated gifs on the main page and I haven't seen any static banners yet, meaning custom images would have to be created anyway.

What do you guys think about the whole idea of the site? I know it's going to work (heh otherwise i woudn't be doing this ), just needs time and maybe a little more research.

Any and all comments are welcome!

Just looks like a idea similar to milliondollarhomepage.com

Will need a shed load of traffic to become worthwhile IMO.

Yep. Been done before. Many times over.

Milliondollarhomepage, then there was quite a few poker ones that followed. Even Jeremy and Brandon did something similar with donkeylotto and at least they incorporated a forum and contest.

In my opinion it would be very tough for this site to succeed, but obviously I wish you luck.

I looked at it and bounced immediately since it looks like one of the zillions of pixel sites. If that is the point, that idea is very two years ago and will probably get you nowhere. If the idea is different, you need to make the design not so instantly "oh my god, not another one of these".

cool, that is something to take note of. i do agree current design shows like its a remake of pixel sites, the idea is different though. at first, everybody can get the boxes for free, then wait and see if traffic builds up. The price for a box will increase later when people will start to buy over other people's ads and thus increasing the price. this will only happen when traffic comes in. In the past month the direction of where the site is heading has changed a little and we'll keep trying things to see what works and what doesn't, it'll be a fun journey to say the least.

it'll be interesting, thanks for the support and constructive criticism though!
