Anyone have any suggestions for a background? Or somewhere that they are free to use but don't suck! I know this is such a lame question. I have been trying out different things and to be honest they all look like crap. Dark or light it doesn't look right.

Don't use an image for your background. Looks cheap. Just go with a color.

Yes whatever you do dont use an image, its best to keep to a plain colour to a mellow colour not something to shocking. You want your players to be attracted to the site but relaxed on the site. I hate sites that have bright backgrounds with similar text colour you get a headache after about 1 minute.

I wouldnt totally avoid images as a background, they look fine if they are subtle and are not too diverting. Take this site for example...

Sorry I have to disagree. Do not use an image for a background unless it's a very small image designed for a background and wont repeat itself.

Just look at PAW. This is a great use of an image for a background. You've seen a few of my other's Kaus.

But yea colors are good. i have a few decent background images that work well that i have used for many sites.

let me know if you want to try them out. they are cool and have a good effect.

I have used really great images to great succes on many sites.

I can send you a few if you want to try them out. i have some good poker related ones.
