This is not good news... I'm wondering why they took this stand.

There have been articles in numerous papers stating how Alberta are looking at legalizing online gaming. They are currently studying it. Firepay leaving gives me the opinion that Canada is looking at duplicating the US in making it illegal.

Considering every major poker company have offices in Canada I find it strange for firepay to give the impression that Canada are going the route the US are.

Anyone have some insight on this?

We are very much at the same risk as the what has happened to our southern neighbours. The issue was brought up last year in the house of commons and I am sure it will be again in the near future. When you have major betting/sports companies backing some of the politicians in having something like this approved I don't think we stand a chance. I don't think it's a question of "if this will happen?" it's more of "when will it happen?"
