Default Simple Affiliate Websites?

Hello everyone,

I am currently building a poker affiliate site that revolves around an idea I had months ago. My concept however is quite simple.

After hours of browsing this site and clicking through to all the other affiliate sites out there, I noticed that they are all very elaborate, busy and lacking a specific purpose.

With that said, do you think this is a standard or are there sites out there that have a simple concept that works? The trouble I am having is that all the affiliate sites seem to be the same thing over and ove again, with freerolls, bonus codes, and the same news that everyone is posting. Do you think online poker players are noticing because I am.

Please reply if you have any comments or if your site (or one you know of) is unique and simple in it's concept.

Thanks,

Tiny Tycoon

That's the internet for you. When one good idea comes out a 100 people copy it.

And I really can't think of a poker site that I have came across that is totally unique.

I think that if you are lookin for advice from experienced poker affiliates, coming into a forum where they all hang out and bash their sites isnt the way to go.......

If you have pleanty of simple and unique content, go for it. Thats how most of the long term big time successful people on this forum got there, true, others copy. True also that the 1st one to do it are almost always the best and most sucessful.
Good Luck

My suggestion to you would be to go check affiliate websites in other business areas and see how they work. Check out affiliates such as Pricerunner.com and see how they work.

Good luck!

I think many of the more successful affiliates stick to this idea. Think about it...

pokerlistings.com - provide the most comprehensive guide of all things poker in simple list form.

bonuswhores - focus soley on disecting and analyzing poker and casino bonuses for maximum return.

tournamentmonitor.com - focused on providing an easy system for tracking online poker tournaments in real time.

pokertips.org - focused heavily on poker strategy from beginner to professional

macpokeronline.com - focused on online poker for macs

There are plenty more of note, but if you can find a niche and exploit the hell out of it, I think you will do well.

Default Thanks and need help

Thanks for your input! I will continue to work on my website and I will make sure to post it here when it's ready.

For those of you following this thread, I am looking for help with the overall direction of my site. If someone is out there that has time to help build my site around my concept, please email me. You should have programing , graphic design, affiliate and seo experience. I am willing to negotiate a % of revenue. I will also post this request in a new thread.

Thanks again,

Tiny Tycoon

Every site should have something unike but they also need to have all the other regular content. You dont ant someone to have to look for another site to find some basic info.

I decided to have a free poker e-course and thats what my site revolvs around. Other than that it has all the other same poker affiliate site content.

Yes, it's always sites with a unique concept that do the best, but ultimately, it's how much work you will put into the project. For example, poker listings would be nothing without the insane amount of content they have. Many sites try to attack different niches, but the hardest workers in those niches will ultimately win.

Also, Simpson975, you're signature urls aren't working, fyi.
