Default online ban update?

I know that the bill passed half the reqired legislators, but I have not heard an update on what the bill is currently doing. I had heard that it was going to sit and probably expire before being discussed, but I have now heard rumblings that it is going to take the floor soon. Does anyone have an update?

There is actually a lot buzz about this right now.

It's sitting on senate floor waiting approval. However, there severan factors that come into play on it. The first is it more likely won't be before the full senate until after the elections. The senator pushing the bill from arizona is in a tight race.

The longer it takes the better the news seems to be getting. Just today a group representing 5,000 banks in USA came out against the bill.

The bill itself is crazy and almost unenforcable. Their expecting banks to do their own investigation into money transfers. The bill makes it illegal in the usa but there so many loopholes in it that it's not going to do anything because the government is putting the workload on the banking industry. Do you think their going to want to do it?

Still it remains interesting exactly what is going to happen if it's approved. How's it going to effect affiliates is such a grey area it's worse then one that exists now.

you can go to the link below which is yahoo news search and there several articles both pro/con on this issue.

John Caldwell wrote a good article about the issue today, I hope that the banks opposition will make many senators think twice about voting yes for this.

"Senator Frist was quoted about three weeks ago as saying the online gaming bill was his 'lowest priority' for the Fall session of the Senate, which many feel sealed the legislation's fate for this year."

That's more like it.

Sure, but which of the other 99 senators does this not apply to?

Maybe not Obama....but that's about it on my list.
