I'm not sure if you guys have heard yet but NWP broke a story about former WSOP runner up David Williams. Apparently he starred in a porn film that was kinda strange.

NeverWinPoker David Williams Story

Anyhow I could care less about the video or story but I was talking with Micon tonight and they are getting pretty massive traffic and backlinks from the whole thing.

With that said NWP is also going to start selling some new advertising spots on their site on a first come first serve basis. I bought a goofy pixel there months ago and it has paid off several times over. Regardless of the news story, I feel NWP is a pretty solid media buy due to the shear number of real money players that visit the site every day.

I also talked Micon into giving PAW members a deal on the new ad spots. So if you have ever thought about trying a paid ad campaign on a poker site, this would be a great opportunity. The key to a successful campaign on NWP or any poker site for that matter is to come up with a promo that is going to captivate the members of the site.

A simple banner to party or another site is worthless. Think outside the box and come up with something different. For the reasonable ad rates, NWP is a gold mine if you can captivate the audience or give them a reason to sign up at your site.

We are getting 25k+ uniques serving 2.5M+ pages each month.

All fixed-price ad spots served on every page, the top banner is being sold @ $75 / 100,000 impressions which are evently distributed using PHPadsnew. Advertisers get a login and can 'bird their stats / clickthroughs, etc.

Advertisers are also allowed to lead discussions in the forums, although it may not be excessive / disruptive.

Anyone who buys pixels or the new NWP blocks will see the most benefit if our site explodes from this David Williams news / increased traffic.

Rakeback guys, you should be snapping up the shooting off announcement post. For a cheap price, you get the very first thread in the Shooting Off forum! (it's up there right now and says "buy this announcement". degenerates are always trying to find rakeback on my site.

Jeremy is the man, PAW rocks, and being a large affiliate myself I know advertising needs to be mutually beneficial for it to work long term, and my prices are such that I think an affiliate can do well with an effective campaign.

GL all!

Just wanted to let you know I am working with Micon in dealing with the advertising on his site. If you have any questions about it at all, you can always ask me and I can take care of you. As I said in a post in the Poker Aff. Exchange, Micon is a pretty busy guy and might not be able to get to your questions or concerns when you want him to. If you want to get an ad up right away, you can contact me and I will get you set up for you. I really think this is a solid opportunity for every affilaite on these boards. You guys should be licking your chops IMHO. Come up with something creative like Jeremy said.

LOL, this David Williams story is several years old. It's is kinda interesting though that poker has had such a turnover in the past couple years that some folks think it is new.

Check out all the old RGP threads. I think it was a week or so after he came in second at the WSOP. But it was even common knowledge among Magic players before that.
