Top 5 Affiliate Markets in the world

This has been chatted about before but let's do it again. What do you guys think the Top 5 Affiliate markets are besides poker. My thoughts are porn, dating, ebooks, consumables.

Thoughts?

Insurance and Loans pay a lot if you can compete.

I'd say Books/Amazon.com is right up there

what about travel? I'd think it may be pretty good. Looking into it right now matter fact.

Travel = really small commissions I believe. That is an industry that is very tight all around right now.

Top ebay affiliates are pulling in 7 figures. Ever notice that every seach term on google has an ebay ad...they are affliate ads. they get $25 for every register player that makes just a bid.

Ringtones are the hottest thing right now. Know a ring tone guy pulling 8 figures. There is crazy money to be made once you know the game. Problem is game is always changing.

Last years craze was the free ipod or similar items. Company that invented it did $100 million last years. Top 5 copycats all did over one million.

This is a very good thread. Think of where you would go if online poker disappeared (or you have the heat on your ass for promoting)

So the question becomes what will the hot internet craze be in 2006? Many would say pixels, but I think that is a dying fad.

Another hint of what is hot, is to notice your spam. Mortage leads pay crazy. Don't know any specifics, but i am getting so many spam ads on fake watches, somebody is doing well with it. (viagra and ED pills make money, but I'll stay away from that) Porn still makes it but the competition is insane.

I agree with Jeremy. You need to be on the leading edge of the hot new thing, not the back end of the old fad. Poker is somewhere in between. 2 years ago was the easy money...now its figuring out a niche. Fresh content looks good on paper, but with everybody doing that, its going to be a tough road.

I like scanning through the Yahoo BUZZ index regularily. There's a lot of crap (mainly web's hottest celeb names, moves, etc.) but there's a lot of good information too. Check it out Yahoo Buzz Index - not necessarily an affiliate market but can give you some ideas on future affiliate markets!
