HI all,

trying another offline promotion, i saw an advert in my local newspaper saying this..

LEAFLET DISTRIBUTION

Have your leaflets delivered with your local newspaper.

For targeting advice and rates please telephone julie.

So i rang her, and told her about my promotion, its £16 for 1000 flyers, which is good i feel, but they have to check the flyer over as they have strict rules what they can deliver.

Im sending it to them tomorrow (by the way its the flyers from party) fingers crossed they will accept.

I will let you all know, what do you think peeps

fatty

I think it depends how conservative your local paper is. One suggesstion if they say you can't advertise a gambling site is to set up an "informational" site and host a freeroll tournament. Simply put info about the freeroll in your leaflet and say for more information visit YOURSITE (which is not a gambling site)

I suppose alot depends on where you are located at and the legality of online poker there.

I am doing something very similar here in Australia, but on a much larger scale.

As you may or may not know, gambling advertising is illegal (in australia). The room i am doing this for has set up a .net site which is a free play site. This is what will be on the leaflets and it is totally legal as long as the site does not promote gambling for real money. The idea is to get players onto the free site, open an account and play for free, getting a feel for the games and the software. they will be offering prizes ect for them.

Then the conversion team of the poker room contacts (email or phone) each of there players individually and gives them free money to play for real money at the .com site.

This is my opinion has huge potential and is a great idea for doing offline promotions. Naturally you need your affiliate manager to be on board and i am fortunate to have a great relationship with these guys.

Didn't know you were based here - can you get in touch, I am trying to hit the Australian market at the moment... Paradise is due to increase its exposure here.
