Warning - Check your bank accounts

There has to be an affiliate company leaking personal info , or an employee stealing info .

I have a bank account that i only use to receive payments from affiliate programs . Today i take a look at it and see an echeck made out to Art Net .by a third party processor called market billing .

So called them and they told me the charge was for some adult monthly subscription site . Told them i never ordered and they said they would refund the cash ,, calling bank now to stop this check .

i did a little searching and found about a 1000 others who had this happen recently http://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-800-397-5761/20

so go check your bank accounts ,

Great, another unneeded black eye for this industry. We keep giving the government ammo due to a couple of terrible people.

there doing it smart , there only hitting people for 29.99 or 34.95 , probably hoping they wont notice

Thanks for the heads up. Personally I would never notice a small charge like that as it wouldn't look out of the ordinary. Well, that combined with the fact of how much crap my wife buys with the debit card

Scammer was from S. California. Was a gift cert I think?

Only reason i noticed was that i do not use this account to make checks , only to accept payments , so when i was looking thru this months payments and saw a debit im thinking what the hell is this .

A little off topic, but I saw a bit on msnbc the other day about xxwww.lifelock.com and I think it's worth checking out for anyone who is concerned with identity fraud. I had never heard of it before, but for $10 a month I'm in.

I am pretty sure that my Moneybookers account info (which ended up getting hacked) was leaked in a similar fashion.
