Here I will have to respectfully disagree with you. This industry gets a bad name because it is full of shady characters and even more so, incompetent people running otherwise huge corporations.

1. The owners of AP/UB (cheated players, horribly run businesses)
2. The founders of PartyGaming (came from porn)
3. Chris Carlson/RakeTracker (lots of shady dealings...see recent thread)
4. Bodog (incompetent, over losing domain)
5. Me (certified whacko who would never last in another industry)
6. PokerListings (from homepage: PokerListings.com is an independent online poker information Web site, not affiliated with any poker room )
7. PokerSpot (a bit dated, but straight theft)

lets post more examples of shady or incompetent people who are key figures in online poker...matter of fact, show me some real businessmen operating in this space...that list is a lot shorter than the shady one

So if the industry is so shady and filled with terrible people, why do you continue to work in it?

It's gambling, so there are always going to be shady people, no different than if you hung out in a poker room in Vegas every day. But from my perspective there are also some great people in this industry that I have become very good friends with.
