Best News Submission to the masses?

I recently sent out some news about the new PAP design on PRWeb.com and it just didn't seem to be as good as it used to be. I remember using PRWeb like two years ago when 80 would get you all over the place. Of course those were the days when I could splash pics of Victoria Silvstedt all over the place with my CelebPoker stuff and get wacked ass hits from everywhere. PRWeb is still great but there are some other ones out there that are working too...

On the subject, I am thinking about releasing a press release soon and was wondering if anyone has any good alternatives to prweb?

I have tried them all - free and pay...

Recently I have made deals with a few different sites that are listed on googlenews and I had them get it ranked for me. It works but it does not get you everywhere.

I have found that when I read a press release I check to see what the source is. The value I put on the news I am reading is influenced by the source of the release. I see many companies out that pushing their content through known free services. I figure - if the company is rock solid and if the news is important enough to be "news" then the company should not have issues with spending a few bucks (sometimes big bucks) on a press release.

Greg - yes, PRweb has been the king. I have found that because of all of the competiton - and easy ways to get your PR sent out for free - there are some services that will guarantee submission and help you reach the keywords that you want more and more lately.

This is a real common thread. With some trial and error, and some testing, this can be done in a very effective way for free. By doing your homework you should be able to get the same results PRweb would give you, the hard way, for little or no cash. I would rather just pay for it and focus my time on something else.

Just throwing a thought out there.. but if i came up with a price, and offered the service of posting other's quality news.. not junk news.. but real news.. on 4flush

Would it be worth it.. or would submitting to PRNews be better?

4flush is a pretty new google news site.. we picked up by lotsa RSS feeds, but i wouldn't want to do anything to sabotage our being listed as a news site..

Press releases are old news unless you get them on the new mediums. Also, make sure you always stumble your articles. SU is the most consistent sender of targeted traffic out of any social bookmarking site currently (and a lot of the top diggers roam SU for their submissions).

Prleap used to be pretty solid for keyword ranking purposes but they put the kabash on affiliate related sites. Im really suprised what prweb lets you submit. You could probably submit a pr that says, "Why PRweb sucks" and they'd still let it fly.

There are plenty of decent ones left but like BG said, you gotta do the research and testing to find what works best for what it is you're trying to accomplish, viral or temporaral serp ranking.

You can post news from other affiliates on your site and google will pick it up just like it is picking up the rest of your news. I do this with other sites. You just have to make sure that the news is very high quality, and it is edited. If it is spammy, yes you will have a problem. You will have to edit out everything. It would be really tough to put a price on this. I also would be worried about posting any single site too often. Your best bet here is offering this service to fellow affiliates in exchange for some links back. Thats a good site though, I see it in the news often.

Speaking of press releases, I was just messing around with arrivenet for a bit because sometimes you can achieve some temporary search rankings with them.

With that being said I'm not sure it will do an ounce of good. This is the only site that I have found that loads slower than the Cake Poker affiliate reports.

Funny you mention the slowness of arrivenet because I was on their site today and it was driving me insane how slow it was!
