For about 2 years, was roofing at the time & just worked thru it. Probably was the best thing for it, therapy in a way.
Dropped a small cliff snowboardin' & buttchecked some buried granite!
Been fine for 7-8 years now.

Still think I'm about a 1/2in shorter now though

My lower back hurts today, but I did some deadlifts yesterday after being lazy for a few months

Can anyone reccommend a good chair for around about $100 (£50)? The one I have in uni isnt great for sitting in for long periods of time and working in. Its more of a chair that a visitor might sit in for 5 mins when they pop over, rather than a desk chair.

Interestingly, the best chairs for people who use computers for a long time are not the expensive ones. The $1000 chairs may look great and be comfortable, but they keep your spine in a position that may not be natural for your body.

The best would be one like this:
example 1

The back cushion should be in the lumbar spine level.

But no chair can help you if you work for more than 2 hours without even getting up.

If you stay more than two hours (most of us do), I recommend some exercise every two hours. You can find an example here

Other topics: never use the laptop keyboard for long. If you do, say goodbye to your neck. I recommend using a keyboard when you are at home, and raising your laptop so that the upper side of the screen is in your eyes level.
