Need YouTube Vid with text embedded

Can somebody please explain how this is done? I'm sure it is easy but I have little technical knowledge. For instance how do people show text over their YouTube video's and text at the beginning etc?

Say I want to take a clip of a movie and put it on YouTube...how would I do that if I have the movie in WindowsMedia format on my computer?

Any software programs or just a couple of buzz words I can google would be greatly appreciated (especially if this is more complicated than Im guessing...any info to get me/us started on the right track)

I'm using Adobe Audition for editing videos. The program is not free. It's easy to insert text in it however.

Yeah you need a video editing program. I use Vegas Video 5 and does everything that I need, WMM is really poor compared to other programs on the market. These editing programs will allow you to put text over videos along with a number of other things, and they will also allow you to change the video formats.

Make a video as normal. Take a copy of it and render it using a editing software program. Windows movie maker is simple enough to display text in beginning and end.
