Default PokerListings - Stars & FTP

It looks like PokerStars and Full Tilt are back on pokerlistings now.

Anyone have any insight as to how they resolved the conflicts? Or, did listings just give in, finally realizing how much money they were throwing away each month.

I think moves like that completely discredit their site. How can you rank FT at 10? They are top 3 in ever category. Don't rank them if you are only going to go off who pays the biggest $ if you want to act like a legit site.

I miss the old days when you rank sites truthfully.

Pokerlistings embarrassed themselves badly during the whole fiasco. they showed their rankings are entirely based on who pays them the most... which is a fine way to do it if you admit it, but if you pretend otherwise you are just lying.

But then again they just lied about their reasons for not having them listed, so I guess that is par for the course.

To the average visiting poker player, the rankings they provide could seem pretty truthful. The are such a big site most people would not have a reason to not believe them, so I wouldn't have thought they would have too much of a problem with people realising that rooms are ranked based on how much they offer PL.

Back before I was an affiliate I was one of those visitors, believing that Mansion (at one point) was the best poker room out there. I had no reason to believe otherwise and I wasnt aware about affiliating, all i was ineterested in was where I put my poker money. Don't get me wrong, Mansion offers a great poker room, but I certainly would not put it above other rooms like Full-Tilt.

Pokerlistings ranks websites based on how much money they're getting paid. That's fine if that's clear to your readers, but if you're presenting yourself as a place that offers "objective" reviews and rankins, then you're basically treating your audience with contempt by lying to them.

It's disappointing, but considering how they handled taking them off their site, it's not a surprise either.

Like every other affiliate.

FT treat affiliates horribly. Why should a site like pokerlistings who help build FT's ratings bother.

They have not embarrassed themselves, I would just say FT did not respect their contribution

Yeah but the top 2 main goals for every affiliate is to:
  1. Make money....lots of it!
  2. Make their visitors happy
PL could achieve both of these better by having FT up near the top since it's the best place to play IMO.

Suggesting every other affiliate lies to their visitors is silly and weird too.

Emarrassed was a nice way to put it. They've made a fool of themselves, putting up those rant pages about the cardrooms, and then just removing them and advertisign the cardrooms like nothing happened.

They've most definitely embarrassed themselves, no question about it.
