Default Frustrated With FT - Options?

Not a new subject but getting frustrated with the fees and other deductions from Full Tilt... got to the point where this month my take is something like 6% of the total rake (high 'player fees', bonuses and 'player added').

Looking for a little practical advice on the following options:

- Stick with MGR deal, wait for the bonuses etc to work through and hope to profit in the longer term. Is this realistic at FT??

- Switch over to CPA for this site instead, issue here would be whether it is possible to get my bonus code moved from my own affililate Id to my PAW tracker?

Be great to have some input from those experienced with promoting this site... my overall gut feeling is to go for the longer term MGR route, just looking at the horrible stats is making me question whether this is really the best option!

Thanks, Mark

I've used dual trackers in the past with my sites, one with CPA and one with MGR. It's a toss-up considering you may shoot yourself in the foot if, say, a consistent player goes through your CPA tracker and you'll only earn a one-time commission; but in this business it's one of those things that you can expect to just happen.

You'll have to play devil's advocate every now and again when it comes to making decisions on CPA and MGR -- at least with Full Tilt being on the PAW network you have that ability to control guaranteed cash versus picking up a solid player base on MGR as well.

Over the short-run you could at least be making some guaranteed dollars via the CPA plan on PAW, for example; and over the long-run you could still be picking up your fair amount of MGR players via your actual Full Tilt affiliate account links.

Good thoughs - thanks.

A little concerned that having 2 different bonus codes will confuse people... however my next site is already under construction so ussing the CPA on that one might well be a nice hedge against the variance of MGR!

Cheers, Mark

What is the "player added"? I've been getting charged fees on that now too. Also, if I've been with FT for awhile and I've done okay, can I ask for more than 20% MGR?

You can always renegotiate with a poker site, but unless you're bringing in a solid amount of players per month, your AM probably won't budge on your existing deal. Never hurts to try though

I've heard FT is really a bitch for negotiating with.

I'd still try though if you're sending good players, the worst they can say is no.

What does "player added" mean? I've been getting charged for this recently.

Player added is one of two things (maybe 3):

1) A tournament does not meet it's guarantee and Full Tilt has to add money in to make the guarantee. For instance say Full Tilt had to add $20,000 into a tournament that had 500 players. If you had one player in that tournament your player added expense would be $40, which is then subtracted from your MGR in the same fashion as bonus cleared and processing fees

2) Full Tilt advertises a tourney as $2000 added to the prize pool. If there are 200 players that enter, one player's share would be $10 and would be charged back to you the same as above.

3) Not sure if this is hit here or in the used points column, but it is definitely taken out somewhere. They run freerolls that players can enter with their points. Say for instance it is a satellite tournament where the prize is a $200 tournament entry. If 40 people enter one player's share is $5.

Hope this helps.

Full Tilt's fees just suck... no question about that! I dont promote another room that deducts fees like they do.....

That said... you have to look at the bottom line.... do you make more at FTP with the amount of play your player's generate? If you do, you promote them, if not.......

Thanks for the explanation prenut. I wish FT would just cover their own fees and be happy that we affiliates bring them so many players.
