Today we want to address this issue that new affiliate frequently encounter and help you learn how to find the true purpose for your website, learn targeting players and move forward.

Player Targeting - most important part of your business

We often say that content is the most important aspect of your website. But that is only if you know what is the purpose of your affiliate project. What are you trying to accomplish beyond earning revenue.

Affiliate marketing is all about solving problems. If you are a poker affiliate, you need to find poker players that need something you have. Sounds simple enough?

But what are these problems poker player have? If you don’t think about these things, nothing else will matter.

It’s time for you to make a choice. What is your website about? What problems will it solve? Because everything, and we do mean everything, flows from that. SEO, keyword targeting, better content, choices of poker and casino affiliate programs. Everything.

Start with Profiling

So, let’s get back to that question about poker players’ problems you are trying to solve.

The best way to answer it is to think of real people profiles including name, age, gender, marital status, place of residence, job and hobbies.

Take Joe, a high school graduate. He doesn’t have a job and a family yet. His upcoming plans are related to going to college. How he’s could connect with poker? If he never played before, maybe he searched for poker rules after he saw a televised poker event. Maybe he knows poker and though he might give it a shot as he is going to have a lot of free time?

In opposition, take Tom who has been playing poker for a while now. He’s 23, hasn’t got a family yet. He has been playing micro-stakes a lot but is looking now to take his game to the next level? He has the cash to make a deposit and use deposit bonuses fully but thinks had he needs to learn poker beyond basic ABC style.

Now think of more stories. As much as you can. Think of grinders that live of poker and maybe would be glad to get extra for their buck, think of people that maybe already have kids and jobs but know about poker in general and want to try it out for real money. Think about tournament players, cash players, casino players, sports bettors.

This is very important. Stories you come up with represent real people groups that you can target. Only when you clearly know what kind of people you target, you can truly define their problems and find solutions to help them.

Now, consider how could specific groups find your website, what keywords would they type in Google. You can visit Google Adwords and experiment see what are people searching for.

And the last part is simply to put it all together and adjust your content appropriately.

It may have sounded simple at first but hopefully you understand how crucial it is to spend time on these tasks. Do it now. Think of 5 more player profiles. As detailed as possible and create 5 more tomorrow. It doesn’t cost anything!
