Flash Banner question..

I don't understand why I cannot have webmasters copy and paste my Flash banner into their html without having to have a copy of the flash .swf file.

Here is the code for playing the bonusbanner.swf on my own pages: (I don't know why the "Grin Smiley" is there!)

Why can't I just change the locations of the Flash images to external URLs, so that it looks like this:

and then Copy and Paste this into any other page on any other website?

Youtube videos seem to work like that, with no problem, i.e. here is some code that works easily:

Is the difference partly that I do not have a line like this line here???:

Is there anything similar/simple I could add to my code above to make it work on a Copy and Paste basis?

im no expert in this field, but to my understanding in order to play any flash a .swf file is required on the server hosting the banner, i think what you may want to do is an aniamted banner, but like i said im no expert so dont quote me on this!

But I don't understand why you can get Youtube videos to play...surely that is more complicated?????

If there is some way of reaching into the Youtube video site to get the video data and putting it in your webpage, then why cannot the same thing be done with Flash?

Why can't your website send to mine to get the proper .swf file and then play it????

PS. ive not gotten around to trying it myself but im assuming its similar to transferring images to your local files then uploading them to a swf file within your site so the link generated will originate there

I knew there had to be some way to do that!!!!

Of course, now I have to figure out how to get the effing windows media player control panel off of the bottom of the effing banner....but, still!!!

I owe ya several effing pints, mate!

Figured out how to tweak the code to make the controls stop showing!

Now I just need to figure out how to substitute shockwave player for media player!
