making a directory

Can anyone recommend a step by step guide to making a website directory where people can submit links to

im using dreamweaver and have bluehost which is cpanel . has all the addons just dont know how to get started.

You can always just use a PHP script if you are running Apache.

This is one of the few free ones I have found. (Actually pointed out by someone here at PAW awhile back) but here you go...

It seems as though you are missing files on the server. Hard to tell with out seeing the whole config file. Double check all the files got uploaded.

Does this script not use a MYSQL database?

You know I think it's looking for the "directory" location within "directory"

You have the root set all the way to directory
// this is the full path for the root directory of your website
define("FULL_PATH", "/home/recentpo/public_html/directory");

It seems it looking to find the directory folder in there instead of your root
Take out the /directory of the above code and see if that works

Couldnt figure it out , its giving me a headache as it seems to be put in correctly.

I do not have any php or mysql set up this may be the case , dont know how to do this anyway ,.

Gonna send an email to top q and let them do it if the price is right .

If you want a directory that is not only competent but is actually one of the easiest directories to run then you really need phpLD (phplinkdirectory.com)

it's by for the best and can easily be integrated in any template (except for joomla cms, i'm having headaches w/ this now.)

but seriously check it out its the easiest and one of the best.
