Geo-Targeting Effect on SEs?

I think unless you're geo-targeting a huge portion of your page, you'll be fine e.g If it's just a textlink and a few banners then you shouldn't have any problems.

Simple Question: With the new legislation and several affiliate programs offering ways to target specific sites to specific users, what is the effect on our rankings of using Geo-Targeting scripts? I can't see it as being a positive one, but will it hurt us?

What you need to be aware of, if you are geo-targetting .. say you send all US IPs to one page and all other traffic to a different site, google will index the US Version which may or may not be a good thing depending on the setup.
