How to Revitalize My Forum?

[SmackDog]

So I took a couple weeks off for vacation at the beginning of the year and I come back and my forum is all but dead.

I've tried getting some excitement going by sending out some emails on upcoming events, but no response.

Anyone have any ideas? My forum is xxwww.smackdogpoker.com/forum.

thanks,

SmackDog

Offer to make a couple of your most loyal posters moderators and maybe they will get some of there poker freinds/freerollers to sign up.

may be you need more new members

I think that you can pay one person that can post on your forum and put interesting news or other.

It is good for almost the first 2 e 3 months to have 2 or 3 poster.

I have been thinking the same thing.( Not trying to take over this thread).I have a freeroll that I will be scheduling so I was wondering because of the lack of posting activity would it be beneficial to add that certain members who have x amount of points will recieve the entry to the freeroll. Points would be given to relevant useful posts of course. Has anyone tried this and has it worked?

Yes. Posting requirements will work if the freerolls is worth enough for people to make the effort.

But as soon as they do the required posts, they stop.

Use it to increase the traffic short-term but have a strategy in place to keep them there after.
