Default A little bit of good news

Here is a link from gambling-law-us.com that is pretty optimistic about when the regulations will set in. Hopefully it turns out to be true and we can make as much as possible in the mean time.

I personally think this guy doesn't know WTF he's talking about. Not because he is gloom and doom, but several of his reasons are just way off IMO, and my opinion is not an uninformed opinion.

The guy lost all credibility with my when he said "actually, the bill stood a better chance of being reversed under a GOP congress because they (the GOP) are much more likely to cater to big business."

That just sounds like someone who doesn't know what the hell is going on.

I don't disagree with him that it could take 5 years until online gaming is legal and I also agree that Neteller is likely to stop taking gambling money....but, anyone with a keyboard could type those same guesses.

As for the rest of his reasons for things, he clearly doesn't know what he's talking about.

I dunno....I could see the regulations dragging out for a long period of time, or end up being very weak. Remember, we're talking about the U.S. Federal government here, not exactly the most well oiled efficient machine. This law is ripe with potential loopholes. The banking industry doesn't have the resources to track and block the millions of transactions whether it be EFT, wire transfer or checks.

Sure Neteller will adhere to the regs, but that could simply mean deposits from Americans to gaming sites are blocked, doesn't mean withdrawals are, of course this depends on the regs. Neteller has been very smart with it's wait and see attitude.

That coulpled with that result of the election and the fact that one of the major supporters of the bill was ousted even though his race wasn't viewed as in jeopardy (Leach - IA) means this could end up being one of those many laws enacted that are never enforced.

There's reason to be optimistic
