My thoughts are this...they would have to prove that I actually stamped the bill.
Just because a website that i own the domain name of( oh wait, its registered through a proxy) is stamped on a bill how can that make me liable?
If that was a fact, then anyone could just start stamping the name of a website that they want to "get back at"...
Tough to prove me thinks.

Defacing currency has to be the dumbest idea I've ever heard. Why not just go directly pee on a cop's doughnut?
Some of you guys need to understand that all these ideas to break the law are not just illegal, but they violate any affiliate agreements that state illegal activities are forbidden.

I concur with with PPP 100%. I wish I would have caught this thread earlier. Although advertising on money would give you alot of exposure, messing with the feds is not smart.
Doing this would be about as dumb as counterfeiting money, especially the fact that you would be advertising online gambling which technically is illegal.
Bottom Line - Don't Do It

Well guys - after reading what was posted here the past few posts I still believe that stamping bills is not TECHNICALLY against the law

but as I have a great deal of respect for you guys and what you have said about a judeg being on tilt (funny) I agree that doing this on a large scale like I was planning would not be smart... I have a fair amount already stamped but after I spend that I'm not going to run around stamping large amounts like I had planned - I may stamp whatever money I use personally, gotta think on that one for a bit. Thanks for the level heads guys - I tend to go off half cocked sometimes.....

I to am going to cease with the stamping of currency, though i really dont think there is anyway they could trace it back to me and PIN it on me. I am not going to increase the risk any further.
That said, my stamps are going to go to work in other areas, i am thinking the inside covers of the books at the bookstores..hehe, might cost me if i am caught, but hey,it not a federal crime.

Hehe - yeah going to use my stamp for something similar as well - didnt spend about 45 minutes putting together my own custom stamp from a kit to not use it If you are going to stamp books may I suggest going lateeeee at night - most bookstores are open late and undermanned right before they close. Thinking about hitting a couple bookstores with my stamp as well - going to avoid any that I would like to be able to shop in - would hate to get kicked out of my favorite one for good for defacing their books :P

Not to mention if yuor caught stamping books, they may make you pay for all the books that you have stamped. Not even sure that is all that legal. Bookmarks I think are fine, they are just placed inside the book but does not alter the book in anyway. I can think of many uses for a stamp that doesn't impede on others belongings.

Maybe I was wrong. Defacing books may be dumber than defacing currency... nah, currency is a federal offense, books would only be a local misdemeanor, so currency is still the worst.

I asked my friend about the idea of stamping my website on money. On WheresGeorge he's #1 in California and 20th in the U.S. - not a huge deal, but I'm sure there's over 15,000 people doing it. He discouraged me from doing it. He stamps 200 bills per day and doesn't miss a beat. That "federal offense" thing scared me off. I think, if it were legal it would be a great way to advertise. But so would streaking through the WSOP with you're URL on your ass, but that's not alllowed either..................or is it?
